900 Grayson — Restaurant in Berkeley

I decided to try a new place for Brunch we arrived abut 40 minutes before closing. The host did not greet us with a pleasant demeanor, he was not gracious, but passive aggressive. We requested to sit inside, it was a cold and chilly Saturday on October 30th, 2021. We were seated & handed menu's with in seconds he rushed us to order. it was loud and hard to hear though the masks, but this host was not patient I am a pescatarian so I was pleased to see the seared tuna sandwich, quickly ordered it with fries and a oat milk Latte. Once the Latte came I asked for cinnamon,, he turned hastily and then returned with the cinnamon and slammed it on the table. At this point we decided not to ask for any customer service from him. I was afraid since we had not received our food yet. The food was delivered, but I was nervous at this point. I lifted the bun and something didn't look right it was not slices of seared Tuna as expected, but Tuna nuggets three little nuggets that covered 1/2 of the bun, two were fully cooked. We decided to pay the check and get out of there. The sandwich and service was poor. The sandwich was nothing like the photo on line, there was no coleslaw and 1/4 portion of tuna. I am shocked that it came out of the Kitchen ad it was served to me. Food quality was not served to me. I have never had this experience at a restaurant when we left we looked at each other and said "did that really happen." Yes it did rude service poor quality food and we paid and left a tip. I am in agreement with Alex Morgan I should have questioned the service and food once I was told my order would be ready in 5 mins. For fried chicken ok let's see how this will turn out. Welp a total disaster. If you are told this just know your food will not be what the reviews read 2-6 years ago. MUST BE DIFFERENT COOKS !!!!

I gave 1 star because there's no 0! I love this place been coming for years.I got a to go order. But today I ordered the Demon lover chicken and waffles I always get this and it was terrible. The chicken was not totally fried it was more like soft stale leftover! worst of all the must have forgotten the spices on the breading of the chicken because it was flavorless!!! The chicken is usually fried and crunchy and the seasoning is amazing u can just pick up bits of fried breading and it's delicious but not today nothing crunchy and no flavor. Usually you can see the seasoning and tasted it. and the waffle was not cooked all the way. The syrup was watery and light colored. Usually it's better quality syrup. I payed around $18 for this. I would have gone back to ask them to make another one but this was my breakfast on my way to work so I didn't have time to go back and wait. I won't be coming back there's other places cheaper but I was willing to spend $18 for this because it's usually great but today it wasn't worth half of it. It's absolutely horrible!!! The vibe is really backwoods 1970 diner, the tables are sticky and the chairs are dated and dirty. The patio seems chill enough. I've been to dives and hole in the walls with great food. This place was neither. Owned assumingly by two brothers who both were BEYOND RUDE. The fried chicken wasn't bad, but the gravy for the demon sandwich tasted like it came out of a can, and they added butter and sugar. I had the ceaser salad, the avocados were fresh though the dressing was watered down and very bitter and the lettuc tasted dirty. When you asked for anything, the man huffed and puffed, snatched things off the tabled, and acted bothered the entire time serving us. The waffle looked beaten up and deflated. The syrup was watered-down as well. My daughter's friend burger was burnt extra dry, with odd orange looking garinsh. They wanted to be upscale towards the end with garbage food. The bbq tasted like ketup, the burger was dry and overcooked, the space was dirty, and the service was horrific!!! Not once did they refresh, refill, or ask about the quality of our food.
