This is a very clever an unique park!! I noticed it being constructed as I drove I-76. I finally took my youngest two. They were thrilled.
Parking is easy, although no so straight forward to find it from the main road. Plenty of sidewalk to get to the park. Be aware the first "playground" next to the bathroom building is actually a workout circuit, labeled for over 12 years.
Continue walking to the park and you get to a toddler playground with neat fairly tale themed playground set with a house, slide on a short hill, watering can, and themed structures for flowers.
There is a pavilion to next to this toddler playground.
Continue on to the tree house themed playground with lots of climbing opportunities. The slide has rave reviews. It is high, and probably steeper than most slides. It is all enclosed, so it's safe. I can't imagine adult climbing up the center. It is very narrow, but the children loved it.
Around the corner is a zip line that is easy to use. That's a first for me in a playground. There is another pavilion by the zip line and tree house playground.
I liked the chip ground cover, so no sand or dirt in shoes. There is water nearby with railings, that opens up and cools the area. For train spotters, there was one long train that went by nearby tracks. I imagine this is a great place to watch for trains.
When I went on a weekday afternoon, there was hardly anyone there. Looks like a destination park. I didn't see nearby neighborhoods, but there is a path nearby.
Bathroom facilities were open and very clean. I don't recall paper towels, but most likely a hand dryer to...
Read moreThis is a great space and one of our favorite parks. I've been living in the area for 12 years and it's been in the works for that long - so I'm really glad it has not disappointed.
Features:
Younger child playground area with clubhouse and very cool slides and toys along with baby swings.
Older child area with extensive climbing, zip line, tire swing, and conventional swings
Water play area for children where they can experiment with diverting the flow of water various ways with rocks and built-in dam mechanisms. Some parks I'd say bring your kids in suits. This isn't one of them...enough water features for some fun but probably not an hour's worth.
Full, clean and generally well maintained restrooms.
Adult exercise equipment and community garden to walk through.
Shaded picnic pavilions
Stocked fishing ponds
Cons:
So two things to note: this park is surrounded by a LOT of water, and on the north side of the field are some very active train and soon light rail tracks that are fenced off. So while this is an amazing spot it's just worth noting that it's one you need to be perhaps more aware at. There are places where a child can easily climb over the wall and find themselves in a body of water right next to the...
Read moreWe love this park! The park is created so that different age groups each have their own space. As you approach the park from the parking lot there is a nice hard packed area with several pieces of equipment for people with physical challenges to use. Although anyone over 14 can partake in the variety of muscle working machines. From there is you enter the park there's a nice little area for 2 to 5 year olds. Brightly painted structures and safe activities for the Wee Ones. There is also a rubber uneven terrain feature. Be on that a little way is a covered sand area and a really cool water area with several hand pumps for kids to play with. Beyond that is an area design for children 5 to 12 with a very large climbing structure and several slides. The park also features a really cool zip line that people of all ages enjoy. There are three rentable Pavilions, restrooms that are open till 7 p.m. and the lake has fishing as well as wonderful Wildlife watching opportunities especially birds. The park is generally clean and well-kept. Unfortunately this past time I was there there was a broken decoration in the 2 - 5 year old area. I am hoping to see this fixed very soon as it could be very dangerous to the...
