If you grew up around this area in the early 80's and rember how it was then and mind you there was no I76 back then and it was a really fun place ,and still is just because the state park service may not have funds to keep it cleen or the department of transportation dose not mean it's a getting or dump or any other thing then a park that you your self should try and take a few mins when ever your there to help keep it cleen ,there are trash cans few but that are there ,I walk my dog there every day still and I am not to proud to stop and try to keep it a little cleener ,as for the homeless people there ,it is not a crime to be homeless in Colorado ,and with the state growing such as it has and the need for more housing is in greater demand you will have homeless people ,and that won't change the condition of the place every one just needs to step up and take pride in some thing so places like , Lowell ponds is around in the future ,a lot of the pictures I saw posted of the trash and spay paint we're on the south side bike path and with all the paths leading from the down town area you will come across that kinda stuff but the more people blame ,disrespect ,and forget. About this area the sooner another developer will come along and make it in to a strip mall or parking lot ,and I my self don't care to see that ,all in all it's a really nice spot to enjoy time with...
Read moreA great place to park and wander off and explore the vast and varied small bodies of water/ ponds. Fish are in some but hard to say which. Look for the birds, they go where the fish are. There are some unfortionate homeless people that live in and around that area but none that have ever been an issue for anyone other than themselves. For being smack in the middle of very wide ranged zoned area, this park is pretty nice. Bike trail, porta potty, and water access, no swimming, fishing rules or restrictions arent posted so its hard to say. Dog friendly and off shoot trails in the park area. Plus being inbetween lowell and Sheridan and i70, makes for an easy access. Also...
Read moreThe place shows very little respect from the homeless it looks like a warzone on yhe bike trails its quite sad cause it shows how little adams county keeps there parks and recreation under control ie theyre more worried about catching the homeless whome are getting high to hide the pain there in with there drugs rather then just help them from being homeless and actually all around preventing the trashing of our parks... Way to go adams county sheriffs, I know for a fact u put a ton of my friends in jail for many years and for what? A dang drug that is practically as legal as weed now! Awesome protect and serve...
