Beautiful 3.1 mile out and back hike up to Jenks lake with a loop around the lake. We saw lots of butterflies, lizards, and birds. There are several amazing red wood trees along the trail. The views of the mountains and lake are stunning. Not too many people out at the moment. Some are wearing masks, some aren’t. You can park on one of the wide shoulders of the road of the Barton Flats Visitor Center is gated off. Also, there’s flushing toilets at the nearby Barton Flats camp site.

Loved this trail! My 75 year old granpa did it with no problem.. we carried a toddler but then again my fifty something year old (out of shape) parents couldnt do it … it all depends… Amazing rewarding lake view at the end of the trail. Has nice benches for you to have lunch at the top once you get there as well as restrooms.. amazing views everywhere. Took us about 45 minutes to do it up and another 45 down but we were not rushing and were stopping to take pictures and explore…

A beautiful small lake in the mountains. It has a small walking loop around the lake and a hiking trail leading up to it from the highway. It can be accessed from above also through the main parking lot.

Loved this trail! My husband and 7 year old hiked Jenks Lake trail today and had the trail to ourselves going up around 10:30 am. Snow patches were on some parts of the trail but not enough where it was unsafe to hike. The lake had snow around it and was peaceful as many people were not around. Great...
