Hibachi Catering — Local services in Big Bear Lake

I was so disappointed with this company. We hire them for my MIL birthday and I really wish I wasn't the one who thought of the idea. I was so embarrassed, for one, there communication was really bad. Second, they were an hour and fifteen mintues late the day of, start time was suppose to be 6 didnt show until 7:20. I called multiple time and the lady who kept anwser say fifteen mintues 3 times until I got fed up and told her to be straight up cause my guest and birthday girl were all there ready to get started. That wasn't the worst of it, I was watching as they set up, it looked nothing like their photos online they left a plastic folding table half uncovered look tacky and there equipment was not working at all my Father in law had to lend them his hose and propane tank cause there's was empty too. Only half of there grill was working but at a very low temp. It was 9pm and only half of the meat was cooked, after shrimp was sitting on the grill for 40 while they tried winging it as if I didnt notice there was a problem with there equipment from the beginning. Sadly at 9:30 everything was done aside from for the chicken and everyone ate because the grill wasn't cooking at proper temperature. And for that food didnt come out as good as it could have been. It was almost 10 when we finally got the last of the food, the chicken. I get things happen but after being over an hour LATE and knowing their equipment wasn't working for the beginning but trying to hide it made me really upset. I would NEVER recommend...

All the stars for Hibachi Catering! We wanted a fun and unique way to make my 40th birthday extra special, and Hibachi Catering delivered. Service was top-notch from start to finish. Booking was a breeze through email, responses to my questions were always prompt, Leslie called personally to finalize details twice in the days leading up to the event, and chefs John and Peter arrived early to set up. We had 24 guests in our backyard, and everyone was so impressed with the show and delicious food. Everyone who wanted second helpings were able to get them, and we kept the leftovers too. The party theme was 80s prom, and the hot pink linen and charger details they provided really made the set up look awesome. They played 80s music during their service, performed with fire skills (amazing!), and took time out of their clean-up to take pictures of the group with a handful of phones. Words cannot express how Impressed and Wonderful everything was! I hired Hibachi to cater my 60th bday party. I did not tell anyone I hired them, so when guest arrived and saw the amazing set up, show and food, they were in awe. The food was Amazingly good and the service was Top Notch. We had 2 chefs and their 2 assistance and they were, professional, funny and did a wonderful job. I was then surprised by their Fire Dance which totally Blew everyone away...WOW, words cannot ever express how amazing he was! I would 100% percent hire them again and Refer them to anyone who is looking to do something "out of the box" for their next event.
