I was just passing through town so I was not able to explore much of the trails as it was getting dark but I made it to the Adventure Zone from the Frankfort parking lot in the treetop area which was completly closed when I came in November although having nice weather in the 70s that day. I understand if it's open only during certain months but there are no signs for this, there's a whole building which could easily have signs hanging up like sorry this attraction is closed with the months, hours that its open!... ANYTHING. I really would have liked to walk the bridge in the Treetops. Also the overview on google for this park says that there's a zipline and I passed by this which also appeared to be shut down, talked to a local bicyclist and he said the zip line had been shut down for 2 or 3 years!! Again there is no signs indicating anything very disappointing when youre not a local. I'm sure other areas are interesting but I will not be in town for that long to...

Absolutely love this park. My first time coming was this past weekend and we came up from Mobile. We came to Zip line because I had been seeing this was an Adventure Park. There is hiking, biking and even a dog park. The first day we hiked, there is a lot to see being an old mining establishment. All kinds of structures and things to see we ended up doing 14.6 miles. It's a beautiful hike so we just kept going and enjoyed it, there is so much to see the park itself is very well maintained and marked. The adventure Park is awesome has an adventure course and a climbing tower. Now for the Zip Lining, so of the most fun I've had, you get two jumps and it's pretty fast but you zip through trees and are pretty high up. Definitely recommend doing this. I wanna go back soon and do some more. You can even jump at night which would be really cool to do. Wish there were more stars because I would rate this a lot...

Super cool place but very challenging on the weekends, as there are a lot of people coming and going and with their fuzz kids off-leash. Folks please use your leashes and follow the rules, as it's respectful to those who do. Thanks

Update - revisited this park last week and went in one of the dog parks. Very beautiful scenery and had the whole dog park area to ourselves, BUT when I got back to my vehicle, I spoke with the 2 men that were parked next to me, who were standing there after their hike and their car was broken into. Both of their wallets were stolen and I don't know what else. This was around noon that day, unfortunately I won't be going back. They need to put some cameras up at this park and Patrol it a little better. I feel super bad for those gentlemen, situations like these can turn your life...

Uncover Alabama | Jefferson county - Red Mountain Park Artifacts from Birmingham’s mining days are scattered throughout this 1500 acre park. Pass old mine shafts, mine tracks, storage areas, and many other remnants left behind. Hike to Grace’s gap for a beautiful view of downtown. Today, park has added other attractions, such as 3 tree houses (one with a swinging rope bridge) & a dog park.
