My husband and I attended the Highly Suspect concert on May 10, 2017. We arrived to Satellite early (before doors opened, around 6:00pm) and were enjoying ourselves playing with their retro video games. We lined up at 6:30 and, when doors opened at 7:00, we had a great spot on the 2nd "row" (the concert was GA). We listened to the opening DJ and band, and when Highly Suspect came on, we were enjoying the music, singing and dancing along. Towards the end of the set, an older woman (who looked like she was high on something) barged in front of my husband. He stood in his same place, arms crossed, and did not move as she continued to run into him. She told him that "it was a concert" and he needed to "lighten up." He explained that he was just standing in his same spot, but then she grabbed his arm. I stepped between the two of them, and she cussed at me, telling me that she had a man who was taller than me. I told her that I didn't care, but she didn't need to be putting her hands on my husband. The set continued, and my husband continued to stand in his place. We were waiting to hear "My Name is Human" before we left, because the concert had lost all it's luster. The other concert goer was flailing around, and her hair got in my husband's face, so he coughed to get it out of his mouth. She looked back at him and put her hands on him again. I stepped between the two of them, and she grabbed my neck and pulled my hair. Knowing that I did not want to be accused of something, I made sure not to touch her back, and instead yelled for security, which was nowhere to be found. She let go of my hair and neck, and my husband and I left. She followed us out, but I went to the bar so that we had visibility, and she went back in the crowd.
I have visible scratches because of this altercation. Saturn needs to work on their security during larger scale concerts, to include patting down people/searching bags, which was not done. I was afraid for my safety due to this.
We have attended more concerts that I can count across Georgia, Alabama, and Florida, and I have never had an altercation such as this. I highly recommend that Saturn increase security so that altercations such as these do not happen to anyone else who is trying to...
Read moreSuper cool place. I went to see a concert and it was a very comfortable venue. I only have two complaints! 1. The guy at the door was very rude. He didn’t accept my temporary ID, which i knew could happen, but after driving 8 hours to get to the venue, it was rather annoying. I would have been fine with it IF he didn’t also seem to be in a terrible mood. He said he couldn’t accept it because he needed something to scan- my temp IS scannable. My friend, 21, but with a vertical ID, almost got denied alcohol too. Because her 100% valid ID was vertical still. Which is very common because not everyone gets their ID the day they turn 16. Luckily, the guy giving out bracelets didn’t let that fly, so she was able to drink even though I got giant X’s on my hand in black sharpie. I get that people have fakes, and i get that we were from out of town. But I would have appreciated feeling respected at the very least. A simple, “Hey I’m sorry, but i just can’t accept your temporary ID!” would’ve made my experience just that much better. I work in customer service too. It’s not hard to just be nice to people. That is the sole reasoning for the 3 stars. 2. It would be nice if they checked bags for when people are going to shows! I love that there was no bag restriction, but bad stuff happens and I think they should consider at least checking people’s bags before they enter for a concert. Just personal opinion, so obviously I wouldn’t take a star for that. Just wanted...
