The funny thing about the Heart Arch is that the further away from it you are, the more it looks like an arch. So bring your long range cameras with good zoom capabilities. The best views are pretty close to the Mobius Arch Trailhead, just after the parking lot on the trail to the Arch itself. Up close, the arch doesn’t look anything like a heart from any angle.

Heart Arch is a nice arch to hike to and is on the arch loop trail. The heart shape of the arch is only really visible from afar, rather than up close. The surrounding rock outcroppings are great contrast and it is an interesting arch to see.

To see the heart you have to stand within a particular area at the beginning of the loop trail. But not hard to miss. It's definitely a cool optical illusion because up close it definitely does not look like a heart.

It used to be a real gem to go out to Alabama hills because it felt like no man's land. Ever since covid lock down, the place is ALWAYS packed with people. There's porta potties, road signs, etc. It definitely doesn't have the same charm it used to have. Still a nice hike for adults and young...
