Mobius Arch is one of those places that makes you stop and just breathe for a second. The short hike in is easy but beautiful — weaving through those crazy, ancient rocks until you stumble right into the perfect natural frame for Mount Whitney. The arch itself looks like something time forgot, smoothed and carved by endless winds, standing proud against the sky. Sunrise and sunset here are unreal — the whole world catches fire in reds, golds, and deep blues. It’s peaceful, almost sacred, and no picture can ever do it justice. Stand under the arch at dawn and you’ll understand exactly why people fall in love with the desert. Five stars, easy.

Love this place. I’ve been traveling to Mammoth and the eastern Sierras for nearly 45 years and did not realize that this arch existed until 2024. Easy to get to. I can only imagine what this place looks like just after a snowfall! The trail to the arch is a loop. We went right. After getting to the arch and returning to our car by completing the loop, we noticed that we could’ve started going left instead and got to the arch quicker. In other words, take the left versus the right if you want to have a more direct and shorter distance to the arch.

Place that has a half mile trail that is amazing because it's so cold and kid friendly. If you are coming up from the Los Angeles area where are windbreaker and three layers of clothing because this area is extremely windy. In Fall I had about 20 mph gusts of winds and that chilled me to the bone. I was prepared for the weather but shocked by the beauty of the terrain.
