This was the highlight of our week long vacation! This small historic site has so much to offer. As you walk in you walk past dozens of antique tools including a band-saw and many hand-tools. The person that greeted us was so helpful and made our day. One the first floor there are rooms dedicated to schools and churches of 100 years ago. There is a military room and a room with medical device, native people artifacts as well as a patent and model for an airship many decades before they were used. The upstairs has a room with miniatures with amazing details. The largest portion of the second floor is dedicated to a courtroom (this being an 1899 courthouse). We spent a couple of hours exploring this building even thou we had three small children with us, we all...

What a wonderful treasure trove! Fascinating displays and archival gems in every room of this historic courthouse. There’s no admission fee, but I would have gladly paid!! The pleasant staff were eager to help and tremendously knowledgeable. If you have family from this area, as I do, check out the archive room. I found historical records about my ancestors who settled here nearly 200 years ago. Even discovered that one of the staff and I share a common ancestor. I will visit every time I come to...

Stopped in for Friday night free music at the Courthouse on the Square. Usually bluegrass with a little country thrown in. Free evening but they will have a donation jar and you'll want to give. Starts promptly, don't be late. They draw a good crowd, especially as the summer tourist season builds. Show up late and you may be front and center in...

Blairsville is one of our favorite small towns. There is usually something fun happening most weekends in the summer. Festivals turn the town square into a street market with all kinds of great vendors. You can try your hand at Ax Throwing, sample some local moonshine or find great craftsmanship from jewelry to home decor.

Lots of local artifacts, including antique family bibles and portraits and a room with military items. The doll houses on display are definitely worth a look if you like miniatures. You can go into the old courtroom, too. Best part of our visit was talking with the lady on duty, who was charming and informative.
