Not the big deal that everyone makes it out to be, probably because there's hardly any where to go in this small town. This little restaurant has potential to be really big and should take advantage by trying to monopolize the others. They should work on amazing their guests with great customer service and amazing food, but instead the employees just do average, they are nice, but could be better. Now the biggest thing they need to work on is the taste of their food, it's just average but yet they charge big price like it's the best thing ever. They also crammed way too many tables, especially on the second floor, so people are practically dining with you because they are so close. Do yourself a favor if you're going to pay this much then go to the sawmill place, they have more space, service is fast and food is great. - Well that's unfortunate regarding their response. I gave them a bad review hoping to trigger them to do better, but unfortunately it triggered them the wrong way. I'm honestly giving them raw straight-out feedback that they can use to improve, as opposed to others that won't truly express it. I'm sure their employees work very hard, I never said that they didn't, I just said that they need to do better as far as their greeting and maybe smiling every once in a while would be great. As far as the food goes, that's just my opinion. Hey, my own mother used to work really hard at cooking and still not everyone liked her food! Lol, but again just my opinion. Oh well, the response sounds like they are the ones that took it extremely personal, instead of letting the customer know that they will try to do better. Instead of making positive comments, it's easier to tell them to just go away. I'm actually glad others can see this response so that they can see for themselves how they really are. They don't want to care about doing better, especially when they indicated that they don't...
Read moreHad a delicious fall brunch at Hole In The Wall.
We arrived at noon on a Sunday and it was literally one of four places on the Blairsville Square that was even open. There was a 30 minute wait, but we loved that they took our number to text us when a table was ready. We just wandered around the square, peeking in windows and visiting the few shops that were open.
We got a table upstairs and I love charm of the creaky, quaint historic building Hole in the Wall calls home. There were an interesting mix of locals and tourists and transplant retirees all enjoying a good Sunday meal out.
I had the stuffed french toast with blueberries and it was a sweet and fluffy delight with thick slabs of bread and a delicious cream cheese filling.
I also had a biscuit and eggs over easy. The biscuit was light and flaky, just like you dream of.
My husband had the country fried steak and it was also really good. The breading was crisp and flavorful and the white gravy was just right - not too salty, just creamy and great.
The four stars is because our server was pretty disinterested in his job. I had to refill my own drink at the beverage station because he was gone so long and my husband went even longer with an empty coffee cup. We finished our food and another server took our empty plates while he sat on his phone and then we waited 20 minutes before I finally went and asked him for our bill so we could pay. It didn't ruin the delicious food, it was just a little frustrating.
I'd definitely go back again for the country fried steak and stuffed...
Read moreWe were excited to finally get to try this place. The atmosphere was fun & quirky even if a little tight. We were quickly greeted by our waitress & she seemed knowledgeable about the menu, but the cute signs was the end of our good experience unfortunately. I would have thought that as busy as they were the food was going to be really good. We ordered tomato bisque & chili as our appetizers & chicken livers, mashed potatoes with a biscuit & chicken tenders with fries as our entree. We waited for very long time & our waitress had just dissapeared. All of the other waitresses were very busy going in & out of the kitchen, but our waitress didn't return until 15-20 minutes later. When she did she brought everything out all together. The tomato bisque was very thick & way too sweet, it tasted like something from a can that had dried basil added to it & too much of it at that. My husband's chili was very bland & the cheese didn't melt on top, it was lukewarm as was my tomato bisque. The chicken livers tasted terrible, I could tell they hadn't been soaked in milk long enough or at all, very strong unappetizing flavor, they were small, overly breaded & overcooked. The biscuit was barely warm & not the traditional southern buttermilk biscuit I was looking forward to. My husband's chicken tenders were not traditional breading but tempura battered & small, his fries were shoestring style, soggy & very salty. My husband's cornbread was also cold. ALL of the food was barely lukewarm! I wish we would have just paid for our...
