It was love at first bite. Let me say this: they are doing their own thing. That’s the beauty of them. Every pizza place in town is unique and has something that makes them worth enjoying. Here is what Pizza Belly is doing right. ✔️ There is something about a crust that has that perfect combination of a crunchy, crispy and al dente, chewy bite. They’ve nailed that in their hand-tossed, scratch made, brick-oven crust. ✔️ Now for sauce. Sauce is a make or break kind of ingredient. Theirs is just right. Not too sweet, not too bitter. It is the perfect savory backdrop for the big players…a variety of traditional and unique ingredients. ✔️ From brussel sprouts and onion jam (check out their Fussy Pants) to pepperoni and anchovies to garlic confit and Philly steak, you’ve got gobs of fresh, customizable options to suit every palate. (If you haven’t had garlic confit, get yourself a head of garlic and some olive oil and poach those cloves. You can thank me later. )We tried the Bulgogi (Philly steak with white sauce, peppers and onions) and the Shroom (garlic confit, mushrooms, and artichokes with red sauce.). They really were bangin! ✔️ At around $14 a pie, you can’t go wrong with the price point either. ✔️ And perhaps best of all-it’s pretty darn fast. We got there later in the evening, but start to finish we were in and out with pizza to go in about fifteen minutes. As our town grows, the demand for good food increases creating solid space for Pizza Belly—a surefire option with a great brick-oven crust at an awesome price. No suggestions for improvement. Go give them a try! ✔️ One final thought-staff. I am a fan of friendly, efficient, hard-working staff. This staff was outstanding...
Read moreFirst the good stuff. We received a coupon in the mail…two eat for $25… So we decided to try it out.
The 2for 25 was actually 2 for 23.. Good news. It included a specialty pizza, a salad, and 2 fountain drinks.
We ordered the California Love. It was probably the freshest pizza I’ve ever had. Thin crust light pizza sauce and a plethora of veggies.
I typically make my own pizza because I am tried of heavy sauce thick pizza and very little flavor.
The salad was fresh and large enough for two.
I would recommend this place to my friends as a takeout restaurant.
Now to the bad part. I was greeted by a 30 some year old pony tailed cashier with…”is this a pick up “. I said no I received this coupon in the mail and decided to try it out.
I’d like to order a California Love pizza and…
She said what size 10” 16” ….
I said what ever size the coupon allows.
Next she said what type of salad dressing do you want and rattled off 6/7. She put two cups on the counter and says “ name”
I walked out to my car with the drinks and when I returned I hear “name”.
With her back to me she raised her hand to signify something so I sat down and waited.
Within two minutes my pizza was placed on the counter and I left.
This was on a Wednesday 4:45 pm with three other people eating in the restaurant and three pizzas in the warming rack.
No stress!
Again I would recommend this place for call in a take out.
Would have given 5 stars but for...
Read moreThe entire meal was bad to mediocre.
The marinara sauce was the only redeeming quality for the cheesesticks, which were made on the same new york style crust as the pizza, essentially creating a flat pizza lacking sauce or toppings (not cheesesticks). If you aren't going to use a larger dough ball to compensate for the need of more bread in the cheesesticks, take it off the menu.
My pizza was not quite as bad as the cheesesticks, but still not good. Maybe the tomato sauce is better than the alfredo/white sauce, but it was pretty terrible. The chicken wasn't flavorful and was rather scarce, the "jalapeño bacon" had no flavor besides slightly spicier bacon. I will say the crust was quite good- crispy on the bottom and chewy.
The dessert was obviously a prebought chocolate cake, so I can't really say anything about it one way or the other. It was good, but not worth $9 for the small portion. You could just buy one at Wal-Mart for less.
It might be due to me ordering it for delivery, or maybe they were just busy, but it was a terrible first impression (especially the cheesesticks).
If you do still want to come here, maybe get a normal meat lovers on red sauce and stay away from the white. It seems like they might make something good if it is more basic, as the sauce i had with the cheesesticks was quite good, and the crust on the pizza was...
