I drive 45 minutes solely because the customer service at this store is on another level. Pawn shops in general are filled with interesting people. From the person needing some extra money for holidays all the way to the high end customer wanting a very expensive piece of jewelry for an incredible price. Personally I am looking at everything. I have bought and sold for many decades at pawnshops all over the state. You just never know what you are going to find. I've worked specifically at this store to purchase jewelry, musical merchandise, and some career specific tools. I have worked with 4 salespeople at this store and ALL of those people have been incredible to work with. I purchased 2 rings for my wife around Christmas time. The prices and selection was really vast. One of the rings lost a small diamond from the side after only a couple of days. I called and spoke about the issue with the manager Kevin. Without hesitation Kevin said he would take care of it and I went back to the store to either repair or replace the ring. Both options were offered by this man. He was unable to guarantee that the ring would be completed by Christmas so he left it up to me. . I found another ring with the help of a very nice woman that really knows her job. She remembered a ring that was similar to the other and I was sold immediately.i cannot recall her name. Another time I was guitar shopping with my son and came across a beat maker that was perfect for what my son was needing for some projects he wanted to create. I worked with Owen on that one. Super nice kid that was ready to sell. Owen thank you. The latest sale was a purchase of a Samsung Galaxy watch. What a cool fella Felix is. He took the time to speak with me about some shoes, some jewelry, a very expensive set of GUCCI items and eventually sold me the Samsung Galaxy watch. This place has a lot going for it. Kevin must be a really good manager. Everyone is happy and hungry to sell. Every salesperson I have met has a great deal of knowledge about the entire store. It is worth the drive to visit this place. I am now a lifelong customer. I will always stop here first. Often everything you never knew you needed or wanted is in a pawnshop. When you have a great staff and wide variety of items combined with the management standing behind the product it seems like a simple answer ..... Thank you all at the Bloomington Pawn America. I will see you again on...
Read moreI had lost my bartending job due to covid and needed to make a little money to help with bills so I took several pieces of jewelry to pawn America on Løpyndale in Bloomington. Before covid I had never been to a pawn shop so it was new to me. I didn't know what to expect. I walked into a large, brightly lit showroom. The pawn area was behind plexiglas to my left. There were 2 people ahead of me. No shoppers and about a dozen or so employees. When it was my turn I presented my items to a 20 something guy who looked through them and called another guy over. He looked at my items while talking and laughing with an older woman. Now I wasn't acknowledged by these 2 and barely by the first one. I kinda got the feeling that these pawn shop workers think they are doing you a huge favor, but I certainly didn't expect any compassion from them, and I definitely didn't receive any. I was told that my diamond men's bracelet wasn't excepted because the band was stainless steel. I knew it was but it was a 500 dollar bracelet and I loved it so oh well. They offered me 7 dollars for all my jewelry. I had a 1200 dollar diamond ring and a another ring and bracelet. Now my things were just from Macy's but all together I paid 2000. So I left and the guy seemed surprised. He was respectful but obviously pawn America only buys certain items. I was really disappointed at how I was treated. I will never be back and I make sure I tell everyone who's interested my story. Maybe they should just be a big warehouse store and quit the pawn business, because they are not very good at it. Stay away! Lots of other friendly pawns...
Read moreGreat experience. Extremely knowledgeable staff, especially James. He's fairly new but has adapted very quickly with some top notch customer service skills. It was 30 minutes to close and I still had another item to pawn after he had already helped me with a good amount of items, I told him we didn't have to do the last one due to time constraints, but James insisted that he's here to help the customers and he plans to do so until the very end. He pawned my last item and unknowing to him he actually might have saved my house. Thanks James for going above and beyond, truely remarkable. I can't leave out the rest of what makes this business stand elite above the rest, that would be Felix and Sandra. Both of them have helped me as of recent HUGE, what I love is that they both show each guest the same amount of respect and attention as the next. No matter how big the line. Very original, consistent, friendly, and most of all empathetic to the customers in need. Lastly and certainly not least, their fearless leader, Kevin! Every time I've been here, he's been here as well. He's always smiling and always PRESENT on the floor helping his team when they need him and providing help to all of his customers. He's extremely knowledgeable when it comes to his stock in store as well as modern day changes that occur often... friendly, informative and reliable, and his attributes shine through to his staff which is why this is the place to go if you're in a bind and don't want to feel helpless any longer! Thank you Pawn America in Bloomington, you guys have a lot to be proud of, great work! All...
