Splash pad provides 3 small shaded spots aside from a few very small pavilions. None of the plentiful benches are under the shaded areas, though. And several of the benches/shaded seating areas are directly in line of some water guns that can turn 360 degrees and will absolutely get you wet if a kid playing with it isn’t paying attention (or is just being a kid and spinning it around). Seems like it was poorly planned or not thought through all the way.

Probably great for older kids or very adventurous littles, but none of the toddlers in our group felt brave enough to play at the splash pad after getting sprayed in the face by older kids and instead opted for the playground...

Independence Park is nice! The playground is so interesting- huge slides, great Zipline, things for toddlers- covers a wide range of age groups. Has a few playground equipment things I haven't seen before! Several shaded tables and benches. Nice bathrooms. Splash pad is great! Looks like something out of a Dr Seuss book.
