Palm Beach State College — Attraction in Boca Raton

A lot changed and not for the better:

Office less a lot less kinder and helpful than their recent years. My frost time applying was fantastic and even walked me through how to use the computers and even a campus tour just for me . Idk who they think we are as students but we’re not Boca OLDER ADULT residents we are STUDENTS so we’re not entitled and rude and pushy. But for some reason no one seems ready or willing to help at the reception areas. On the phone it seems worse ….its sad because I want to promote the school for the professors but of the agents to even GET IN THE SCHOOL arent helpfu

Bring back HOT FOOD. I guess it’s true about food being people together and the last time they had it the campus seemed more livelier . Since then it’s dead. I know we’re not a live in campus and FAU seems so “close” but those food places and shops are on the OTHER side of the CAMPUS. If you don’t have a car, you’re riding your bike for 15-20 minutes , KILLER IN SUMMER! It’s convient for students who have multiple classes that day and affordable. Wasting my $10 on a vending machine for a bag of chips and soda? And the other ones on campus HALF DONT EVEN WORK. This predated me but get rid for the clubs. Clubs are useless and juvenile. This isn’t HS , most students go to class, do HW and go home and it’s a waste of funds. Plus most students can’t do school and extracurricular and the ones that DO are exceptional by DESIGN not by “hard work and dedication” it’s not fair to most students. The evens they do for the student are nice , but the other clubs like Film, SGA,accounting, medical students ect it’s all purposeless, isn’t that what our majors are for? We meet students and connect with Each other and we get to hear from “professionals “ on the topic . Our campus is too small to sustain most of them. We can use that money to put to other needs like Cafeteria opening back up. The students make the school not the Clubs. Students these days are loud and very immature . 😵‍💫🤧Being in the tiny cafeteria they think it’s a HS cafeteria 😖😓like no it’s 35x20 ft room! Not a 150x150 ft room! Makes being there not worth it . People still she. To eat and work in there. They dot have to be silent but a dull roar is STANDARD! Even one semester I had a Comp professor and he even stated my class idk how he felt about other bit he HATED mine, they were so rude and always talking, and never doing the work and had nothing to input in the class.

I haven't even started my classes yet and I already Wanna get out of here. I have never seen such an unorganized and uniformed staff. I was told by the financial aid department that I would receive free tuition from financial aid AND be sent extra money for my first semester. I was thrilled until last night, the day before my first class, I was sent an email that said I was dropped from all my classes due to lack of payment.....okay....? I go there the next morning to ask what happened and if I could get my classes back and they tell me that my financial aid didn't cover everything and we still owed them like $ 100 or something petty like that so that's why they dropped me. And I was like, why didn't you warn me rather then sending me email right before class?? I received no worning or anything from them. And of course my spot wasn't taken in all of my classes so I couldn't get back in. So basically we were given false information and then kicked out of class because of THEIR mistake. So I had to choose a whole new schedule that was different from my first choice. They didn't even do anything to make up for their mistake other than tell me I need to choose new classes when there were hardly any classes left. I am disgusted by this school and by how unorganized and unhelpful they are. The guidance office is not helpful either so if you are someone who is unsure of your major or just need extra help don't go here!! The councelors literally just sit there and stare at you as you pick your classes and give no advice unless you dig it out of them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this school and unfortunately for me, at this point it's to late to apply...

Such a horrible experience I had today at PBSC, I’m completely disappointed on how they treated me today and honestly is making me think twice if I should start classes in August or just go somewhere else. First of all, trying to communicate from someone of Palm Beach is difficult, they never pick up the phone, never answer emails and there’s no way to get in contact with them, and since I didn’t have any contact information, I decided to go to campus to get help with my financial aid. The people on the office/admission center are terribly rude, always gossiping between them and truly never paying attention to your needs, they are rude, incompetent, and they give you horrible looks. When I asked for help, they barely spoke, and when they did, they spoke with an attitude, and honestly, I didn’t do anything or said anything to be treated like that. When I finally got help with my financial aid, I was told I could chose my schedule. I asked again and the answer of that lady was “I thought you already had one” rolling her eyes and in a very rude tone. Then, they helped me trying to make a registration to choose my classes on campus. The other lady asked me if I got my financial AID and I said no because it wasn’t approved because I don’t have a green card yet. Long story short, after everything she told me, she literally said “If you do not have for books, then is better not to come to class”. I feel so dissatisfied, disappointed and overall SAD! I was planning on starting my classes on August, but If I was treated like this on the admission center, I can’t imagine how am I going to be treated when u pay for my tuition and start...
