Parents Perspective... Personal Attention through the admissions process. Merit award matching or above other offers as compared to 7 other schools around the country. For our student, it was the right choice based upon Gardner Webb's "style" of education, mission statement, which is lived out, and high quality education focused on high academic success. The school has made certain through its programs and interactions with the new students that the transition process is smooth and genuine in building relationships between the school itself, the faculty, and the other students. Our student is required to serve & attend events for 40 hours, each semester, within their field of study out in the community, in addition to all their course work. Granted our students field of study is to work directly with the public, thus it is extremely beneficial. However, it often requires over an hour drive or more to a larger city to accomplish these requirements. Thus an added cost and you need a car or to make friends with others attending who have a car. Yes, the school is relatively small in a very small town. The school works very hard at providing fun activities for the students on campus on a very regular basis. For our family, sending your first child to school over a thousand miles from home is much easier if your student learns they indeed have made the right choice in schools. Gardner Webb has more than met our expectations and our students which has brought about much happiness for us all. They are exactly what they represent and if your personal mission is not a good match with the schools, it is probably not the place for you. If however, you check out the website and are intrigued, then you visit and it feels like a good fit - especially in its education offering and mission, Gardner Webb should be seriously considered, even though you might be compromising on your desire for a "big school in the city." Our student has found giving up the big city component was not a big compromise compared to how happy they are with everything else at...
Read moreGARDNER WEBB is a horrible university and you should not pay to go there! Nor should you send your kids there! Gardner Webb covers up many horrendous on-campus crimes behind their “Christian” facade. In recent years, a freshman female was brutally beaten within inches of her life by two others students who resided in the same dormitory. The victim was in her own dorm room when the two perpetrators barged in and cornered the victim and beat her within seconds of her life!! The victim screamed bloody murder the entire time. The victim’s head was slammed against a concrete wall, while her face was repeatedly punched, and her body was kicked repeatedly!!! I should also point out that the victim had just come in from the showers and was naked when she was set upon by these murderous perpetrators.
The cleaning lady was present but did nothing to help the victim! Eventually another student heard the screaming and came to help. The assault lasted for over 15 minutes. The victim needed an ambulance to the ER but the school refused to help! Another student drove the victim to the ER. When the victim went to the regular police to report the assault and battery, and attempted murder that had happened to her. She was shocked to find out that GARDNER WEBB had already contacted the regular police and claimed that it “was only a mutual fight and that the victim got the worst end of it”. Gardner Webb covers up horrendous crimes in order to keep making money and Gardner Webb also LIES!!!!!!
I should also point out that the perpetrators had no injuries and they had not been touched in anyway. The school was covering up the crimes so that the victim couldn’t seek justice with the justice system.
I know all of this because I AM THAT VICTIM!!!! PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS CORRUPT...
Read moreThe motto for GWU is "for God and humanity" however, a more appropriate motto would be "do all things for personal gain". GWU entices perspective students and parents with a false sense of a Christian community, leadership, and atmosphere. While the university may be nationally recognized for community service projects, this university in no way helps those students and families in need. The charitable handouts are not given to those who have poured out what is left of their money and savings to the university, but instead are given to the athletes while others are left to suffer. The cost of tuition is not only exceptionally high it's, in no way aided regardless of the students and families financial situation. If you are a millionaire or athlete, this is the school for you. Before applying to this university ask yourself: "what does the bible say about the rich getting richer while the poor suffer?"...
