Hoshi Express Japanese Grill — Restaurant in Boiling Springs

Hoshi has been a place I have frequently visited for pretty good Japanese food for many years. The food is honestly just ok. Not many options in Boiling Springs so probably only the convenience keeps people going here. Portion sizes are good, shrimp sauce is pretty good, rice texture is not very good, and the chicken is tough like everything has been sitting out and just reheated. I know the prices are going up everywhere but every time I go here it seems like it has went up a buck. 40 dollars for 3 plates with nothing to drink and only drive thru service seems a bit much for mediocre food. If you just want quick take out then this is ok but for comparable prices you can drive just a little more to sit down and enjoy a better meal with a nice glass of tea and let them clean...

Great people and Great service, I mean I truly like these guys and they seem to have changed up the meat and chicken size and that's great, really is. But why, why does the white rice have to be so crunchy. I think I've told almost everyone there, except owner, that the rice is crunchy & still, on next visit, I ask for normal rice and when I get home it's still crunchy.
