Johansen Farms Nursery & Garden Center — Attraction in Bolingbrook

I have been going here for many, many years for flowers and always drop more than a few hundred for flowers, it's a tradition for Mother's day. Yesterday I went there with my daughter, her partner and just turned 4 granson. No sooner did we get to the green houses he had to use the bethroom, so she took him.Her partner and I met them in the building by the registers, she asked the lady behind the counter if there was another bathroom available? The person in the bathroom had been in there for well over 10 minutes and there was a line amd even the lady in front of her had been waiting a bit. The lady behind the counter replied, " You should be happy we even have that one." We all thought the way she responded was rude, especially in the manner it was delivered and we all felt it was uncalled for. The last thing we wanted was for him to have an accident, which any parent of a little one knows how it can effect them. The lady was still going on when we walked away. And trust me walking away was the best thing to do. I told my daughter we were leaving and taking him some where he could use a bathroom, then going home. I stopped at the register on the way out by parking lot and let them know why we were leaving and leaving witout my flowers and left. I usually by 6 of their bigger basketsaround 59.00 each, flowering trees around 49.00 each, plant food and at least 6 to 8 New guinea impatients. This year I was looking forward to buying some of the big metal birds for the front and backyard. Like I said I walked out with nothing because of this one person's rudeness and yes that was my choice. 051419 Very pretty nursery that had been run by the same family for many many years and they do grow all their own plants that are sold on the property. They do have a beautiful selection of hanging baskets but for me sadly the prices are to high, hanging baskets average $25 and way up in price. Potted quart plants $8.99 [annuals didn't pay much attention to perennial prices] flats of annuals $16 but veges were actually a decent price. Fantastic inventory, but as a new gardener, this place gave me Analysis Paralysis (& i kinda felt ignored). It is helpful they had plant signage and facts, so i took plenty of pictures. But I was still left having to google my questions. I get employees are busy, but for like 20 minutes I’m just looking for any employee to just say “hello” or something as an ice-breaker.
