First of all the server was the only nice thing about going back here. The quality of the food has gradually declined since Covid. We came here regularly but now will never go again. The little female manager is so unprofessional and rude. Our order was cold. Our food was returned..My husband's twice and mine once. Both were microwaved. The first time his was returned semi luke warm not hot as it should be if it was freshly re-made, we returned it again. My avocado toast was with poached eggs and the eggs were COLD... does anyone like cold runny yolks? It was sent back and this time our meals were delivered by the "manager".... a rude woman who told me I wasnt listening to her as she condescendingly explained how avacado toast was made. I told her I knew how to squash avocado on toast! She replied well the way you do it at home is different and that everything on my plate, including the toast, was served cold from the refrigerator so that's why the "freshly" poached eggs that traveled less than a minute from the kitchen was cold, not cool, but cold. I could hardly believe as she crouched next to my husband, telling me I wasn't listening to her, she turned her head and started rolling her eyes and pulling faces!!!! She tried to give me the menu to choose something else and said she would try to make what I wanted, which was not the point to this I just wanted my eggs not to be cold, which I responded why you don't listen anyway. Again face she looked to the left and began pulling faces and rolling her eyes, She kept repeating how to make Avocado toast and blaming the ingredients for making the eggs cold. She lied and said she had made my plate fresh herself, yet the bread was now chewy and the bread soggy, this was microved. There was no reason for eggs that she claimed to be just cooked to be that cold.... also the toast was now soft and chewy because that's what happens when you microwave things. I finally said you are not listening or care, you don't need to say anything else, horrible service to match horrible food. Management must have changed because it was never like this the over past 5 years. Also my Chai Tea "Latte" with Almond milk was an instant add water translucent half cup serving with DAIRY froth. Read moreTerrible, go anywhere else. Been here a few times at this location. Not sure about other locations. I would give it 0 stars if I could. Only reason I went was because my mother wanted to go for Mother's Day. I will explain latest experience, but previous ones very similar. You can't call in your reservation which was fine and it is Mother's Day so we knew it would be busy. Took about 1 hour and 20 minutes to sit our party of 10. Which was fine because it was Mother's Day. Sat down at 1PM. The waitress kept telling us she would be right with us a few times and around 1:30 she comes to take our orders. No drinks yet (not even water), this is first we have even been talked to. My daughter wanted one of those thicker pancakes that takes longer but waitress recommended to not get it because it will take too long. But it already had been half over since we sat down. If she took our order sooner, she could have had it in by now. So 8 out of the 10 people ordered breakfast items. Easy stuff eggs pancakes. 3 out of the 10 people in our party where 5 years and under. So keep that in mind of how aggravating this would for children will little patience. We sat there waiting forever for our food. Yes forever. An hour later the waitress comes with half of our tables food. Thinking she was coming back with the rest of table, nope that took another 20 minutes after we started complaining. So it took close to 1 hr and half for our whole table to get food (keep in mind my daughter wanted the thick pancake that takes 30 min to make, we just got scrambled eggs and pancakes). We sat down at 1pm and got food around 3:00. 1 HOUR AND HALF TO GET FOOD AND 2 HOURS TOTAL SINCE SITTING DOWN. And guess what, food was cold. Scrambled eggs were cold, sausage, everything. My dad complained as he should. And about 15 minutes later they brought out new food. WHO CARES. The food at honey-jam cafe has not been very good since it Portillos sold the place. I put blame on the whole restaurant not waitress. They had her working too many tables, hire more employees or have more scheduled to work. Hire more cooks if food was backed up. It's eggs and pancakes NOT HARD. I don't even know why we kept coming back. Never will now. Our fault I guess for keep coming back. Hope we learned now. What a way to ruin mother's day...
Read moreI don't normally give reviews, but today was it for me. The food and the waitress was excellent! That was the only good thing about my recent experiences at this restaurant. The hostess staff is horrible! They are rude and down right mean! I have been going there almost every week since it opened. I have continued to go even after it changed ownership. After the ownership changed is when it went downhill in the front for costumer service. I have caught then in lies multiple times. Today when I arrived I was asked if my whole party was there. I answered yes. After the pager went off, I returned to be seated. Again I was asked if we were all there. I again answered yes. The hostess said I don't see your third person. I explained that my husband waits in the waiting area because it is too crowded at the hostess stand. She refused to seat us. I called my husband to come up and she continued to treat me as a liar all the way to the table. Here's the thing. I'm not a liar, I've been a good costumer for many years. By now you should recognize someone who comes and spends their hard earned money with you every week. Then the end experience at paying was just as bad as the seating experience. I wanted to redeem my Honey Jam points. The email clearly says they have to scan the barcode. The girl refused to scan it telling me I was wrong. She said I have to scan my credit card. I showed her the email and she again told me I was wrong. I did it her way. I didn't get to redeem any points because she was wrong. Of course this was part of the same hostess staff that was so rude and horrible to begin with. Too bad the only good experience here is the middle. I only go here now because my husband loves the food and coffee. If I could get him to go somewhere else I would. It's not worth the effort...
