This park is such a gem! I first came here for an organized nature walk with my child. There’s a wide-open, grassy field just off the parking lot. Ahead to the left is a pavilion with four (4) picnic-style situations which is about 15 paces to a playground. The ground is wood chips so, shoes recommended! There’s also a giant sandbox play area next to it, bare toes recommended! The Boulder creek runs alongside the park and there’s a seemingly endless, shaded walking path you can explore. We watched the tubers flailing, people swimming, and dipped our feet in the shallows, next to little waterfalls along the way. It was such a magical slice of nature that I organized a pop-up birthday party for my daughter the following weekend! Never mind the short notice, we wanted to go back and enjoy. I didn’t think there was any chance that one of the tables in the pavilion would be open on a Saturday morning as beautiful as this one, but we ended up having the entire Space to ourselves, to celebrate! Such a gem! Be advised, the parking lot is small, but there is a fair amount of street parking as well, within...
Read moreEben G. Fine Park is one of Boulder’s hidden gems, especially on a warm day. The park offers plenty of shade from tall trees that line the area, making it perfect for relaxing or picnicking even when the sun is out. There's also lots of green grass to spread out a blanket, play with kids, or just enjoy the peaceful environment. One of the best features is the creek that runs through the park, with multiple easy access points to get into the water. Whether you're looking to wade, let kids splash around, or just cool your feet, it's super inviting and fun—especially in the summer months. The park is generally well-maintained and clean, though there are times when the trash cans can get full or overflow, particularly on busy weekends. It’s not a huge issue, but something to be aware of. Parking is limited, so it's a good idea to arrive early or be prepared for a short walk if you're coming during peak times. Overall, it's a peaceful, family-friendly spot with a great balance of natural beauty and accessibility. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike looking to enjoy Boulder’s outdoors...
Read moreThe park itself is beautiful, nestled close to the mountains in the foothills of West Boulder, near Boulder Canyon. The park offers walking/running paths shared with bikes, and has its own parking areas - a dedicated lot in the northeast portion of the park and plenty of street parking spots along Arapahoe to the southwest. Additionally, there are men's and women's restrooms here. The negative is that the place is a magnet for homeless. Not the down on their luck, trying to get by and get themselves together kind of homeless, but more so the hardcore drug addict shooting drugs with a needle right in the open kind of homeless. The kind that don't care about polite society and taking care of things - I have watched some of them not only do drugs like I mentioned, but also spray painting the structures. One time several of them locked themselves in the bathroom and trashed it, which caused the bathrooms to be down for the whole summer and you had to use port-o-potty's. They have ruined my image of the park. Otherwise, great park. I can't complain about the grounds...
