Ok, start with the drive up. It's a roller-coaster ride with switchbacks up to 180 degrees! Once you survive that turn into overlook, parking is great. Nice restroom, and a great visitors center with friendly staff, and history about the area. There is a 3d map with popular areas to go to that was nice. Easy walk out to overlook. You look right at Tablerock Mountain. If you have binos, bring them. Otherwise, they have a quarter fed bino stand. Appreciate the guardrails! Beautiful view, no doubt! I'm happy to have a place to see without hiking up 2000 feet of elevation. Once you walk out to overlook, continue on trail down a staircase into a fissure in the rock-bed through a narrow gap. It's cool, freaky, and disorienting since rocks are slanted. Cool experience but not handicap friendly, so if you have mobility issues or claustrophobic tendencies, turn back the way you came. It's...
Read moreSpectacular view of the mountain and skyline. Right off of geer highway. Near a couple cafe/brunch spots. No hike. You park then walk a few meters and you’re on the overlook. Past the overlook is the devil’s kitchen. If you are claustrophobic, i recommend walking around the other end which exits out to the parking lot- it’s just a loop starting and ending in the parking lot. Through the devil’s kitchen is a very narrow passway, you’re pretty much sandwisched netween two huge rock walls. You may have to bend and twist your way thriugh the passway. The devil’s den actually is pretty cool, it’s on the side of a cliff and you can see the hanging rock over some trees. Bathroom though DOES NOT SINKS. Has sanitizer but no running water so bring your own wipes. Has a small gift shop with snacks and...
Read moreAbsolutely beautiful views of Table Rock and beyond. Parking is a little tight, and the road up the mountain is rough and narrow in spots, so probably not the best place to bring an RV. The visitor's center is friendly and well stocked with snacks and souvenirs, although it did strike me as odd that they charge over $2 for basic trail maps (perhaps that's how they get around having free admission to the park itself). The restrooms are basic, to put it kindly; there aren't even any sinks!
There are picnic tables immediately adjacent to the parking area, and the walk to the overlook itself is short and easy.
Update: came back here during a summer sunset between thunderstorms and it was one of the most awe-inspiring sights I've ever beheld. Truly worth the journey just for those few minutes...
