Driving down 6a we noticed the sign for a park and made a u turn to check it out. There is a good sized parking lot and two porta potties. Attached to this park is Windmill Village making this an even better place to visit. There is a paved loop trail with a short side trail going to a vista with a few of the marsh and Bay. A large gazebo is a short distance from the parking lot. There weren't any benches in it when we were there but a bench and picnic table just outside the gazebo. Between Dummer Boy and Windmill Village you can take a nice easy walk. If you are looking to extend the walk (as we were) a short walk down the sidewalk gets you to Wing Island Trailhead where you can walk a few miles. It was wonderful to be able to park and have three great parks to...
Read moreGreat little park in Brewster. Drummer Boy tends to be the go to place for craft shows, out door band concerts, and farmers' markets. Most of this magic happens during the summer weekends. Watch for signs as you drive by. Even when nothing's scheduled, there's still a windmill to explore, a field to run your dog on, and a children's playground. It's all free and no stickers or permits are required. One little known treasure is that you can park in the park and then walk to the nature trail at the natural history museum (take a left from the park's main entrance) and then hike out to wings island across the marsh to the ocean. No cost, no beach stickers, no pets. It's a great walk and you'll have a beautiful beach pretty much to yourself any time of the...
