Bristow Train Depot and Museum — Attraction in Bristow

The friendly and kind volunteers make every age of visitor feel welcome and important. The museum is a great mixture of hands-on experiences, artifacts, and reading of the local history. Our children loved climbing through the caboose on sight and the phone booth while the adults loved reading about the past businesses in town and seeing the development of our neighborhood and community through time. I never realized that this was also the same exact train Depot where Gene Autry worked as an telegraph operator, and also where he was first discovered as an artist. They even have the same piano he was taking lessons on in there. Plus history of American Servicemen and how the depot played a part during war times. A lot of history in this place overlooked. Little towns like this are what helped create and found the West. Kudos to local town volunteers keeping America Proud and History...

This place is fantastic! So much history, the staff are wonderful and welcoming. This museum is a must see! Right off the tracks in adorable downtown Bristow. You can even tour the caboose with the kids (of any age) and there’s some really great photo ops. Bristow has a really interesting and rich history, and Georgia is especially wonderful there. :) I highly recommend you mark this off as a must see along your Route 66 trip or any reason...
