South Dakota Art Museum — Attraction in Brookings Township

It was just okay. They had several pieces of artwork of the same few artists so I found it somewhat repetitious. They had two women artist and one was doing artwork was felt and the other one was doing artwork with thin acrylic or plastic sheets which created patterns with light. We have been there many times. A wonderful experience. We took grandkids to show them both Howe and Dunn paintings. The Oscar Howe exhibit was great but there were only 3 Harvey Dunn's on display which was disappointing. I know it was due to having room for Howe's works but Dunn is a major draw. This art museum is at the South Dakota University, Brookings SD. The University students welcome you when you enter. Beautiful photos, paintings and Native American artifacts. You can schedule tours or tour the museum on your own. The best is it's All Free. They do accept donations because this does help...
