Only issue was bad bugs season near swampy areas. The bridge was out after lock 26 so you had to take the long way around to get back on the trail. No decent resupply until Bridgeport station or at Harper ferry which was pricey. All the water along the way was iodine in Wells pumps of green at camp sites. However along the way the sites for camping were free. The boat ramp you can camp at for 3 days with rest room.nonrunning water though. Campground along the trail and lock houses are pricey but a splurge for a good 🚿 shower and rest is good. Book on co trail website for lock houses and campground info. Also since then it has flooding so I'm not sure how the trail is since the Potomac flooded. Connect to AT trail from Harper's ferry location. With overnight cowboy camping on grass is allowed at Harper ferry due to hikers. Be careful of the 👽lol as I heard and seen wierd 3 eyed white deer herds running threw these parts heading for water as well as coyote pack I seen. I don't condone feeding wild animals but better then them eating my pack. Wild deer are seen often and 24 Mike's north the state park in the AT. Please if you see a man in a black Jeep with limo tinting on Windows..just run.an don't look back. Trust me don't talk this person just run. Had several unpleasant experience with this person. Always looking for hikers....

You can stand up the whole way across, once you get into the Potomac the currents can be different but there are plenty of islands that you can easily paddle too. I personally just swim, but I am a rescue swimmer so if you're not well-versed in Reading water I would recommend bringing a flotation device. Also great fishing :-) mostly catch and release, but I have caught some really big...
