I found this on Google maps so we drove over to try a beer and a pretzel. When we got there the place seemed okay. We saw they had a menu and decided to try pulled pork sandwiches too. It’s hard when you go to breweries to know their beers so you hope that they recommend something good.
I chose the beer they recommended which was “In a pinch”. We sat down to wait for 2 sandwiches and 1 pretzel which took about 15 minutes. While I waited the beer tasted good at first but then I realized it was kind of flat. It also had a bitter taste that got worse over time. The food was ready and as soon as I picked it up I knew this place did not have a real kitchen. The buns were sort of cold and the pork looked like it came from Sam’s club container with no sauce and wasn’t even warmed up enough. BBQ sauce was on the side. The food looked real sad and I’m sure they did not make the coleslaw either. The pretzel was okay but not enough to make us want to come back.
If you’re going to sell food this is not the way to do it. Just be a brewery with a couple...
Read moreWe stopped by Smoketown Brewing on Sunday after being away for quite a while, and wow—what a transformation! The remodel looks fantastic. The new layout feels fresh and inviting, and the couches are super comfortable—perfect for relaxing with a pint.
Although we didn’t try the new food items this time, they looked really good, and we’re definitely planning to check them out on our next visit. They were out of two beers I was hoping for, but honestly, that just shows how busy and popular the place has become. It’s a great sign, especially considering how quiet it used to be.
The atmosphere had a fun energy without being overwhelming. The music was at just the right volume—loud enough to enjoy but still easy to have a conversation, which is a rare and welcome change from many places these days.
All in all, it’s great to see Smoketown thriving. Looking forward to...
Read moreNice Place, Great Beers The beers on tap are great. The staff are super nice. The bourbon barrel, tripel, and saison were awesome. It's a small venue so get there early. Don't expect much from the in-house kitchen unless you like frozen taquitos from Costco. Prob better off getting food from a food truck or the pizza place next door. Oh, and be careful of the fruit flies; they are everywhere. Note to owner: We felt like it's a brewery shoved in an old run down building w/ flies... The brewery area itself was pretty unkept as well. If you can clean up the fruit flies, get some good homemade food coming out of the kitchen, give the brewery area a good scrubbing and clean up, and update the bathrooms (yes, only one urinal and 1 sink), you'd have an amazing place w/ excellent beer. It feels like a so-so place with amazing beer. Will definitely...
