Located just past the Tesla plant in South Buffalo, this little museum is packed with a rich history of Bethlehem Steel and includes a short informative video upon request. It's free to go, but there are donation boxes and souvenirs to buy to help with costs. There is also a vast array of train memorabilia for the railcar fans as well.

We visited both the Steel Plant Museum, as well as the Railway Museum, all in the same building. It houses lots of other societies and smaller museums. No entrance fee but donations are welcome. Both were really well laid out, and the workers / volunteers are super passionate about their topics.

I absolutely love and adore the way they keep history ALIVE in Western New York! Particularly The Annual Rosie the Riveter Tribute Day is a fantastic way to bring and celebrate great history! 🎉🇺🇲💪❣️ Definitely Kimmy-Sue Tested and Approved 💋

Great museum. An array of my grandparents and great grandparents and onward all work for Bethlehem Steel between the 50’s and 70’s and so I went with two of my family members connected to Bethlehem steel and they had a lengthy and in depth conversation with the workers about their stories and knowledge. Relics from all steel plants in the area, HO Train display and much more. To many a Steel Plant Museum may sound mundane, but nevertheless it was actually very interesting and we spent probably 2 hours there. Check out the gift...

The Buffalo Steel Plant Museum is so much more than just a steel plant museum! Volunteers from the Heritage DiscoveRY Center have carefully recovered relevant artifacts from local workers and their families to put on display for all to see. This museum is a must for anyone with relatives in the WNY railroad, marine, and steel industries, as well as those with Irish heritage. And with its close proximity to Harbor Center, RiverBend, Canalside, and Silo City, you could make a while day of it - fun for the...

I grew up in a Steel Family and even worked at the Bethlehem plant one summer. The was a trip down memory lane. It's a small museum but includes a great timeline of steel production, videos about steel, the area and the Bethlehem plant that are amazing well done and for an added treat gents that actually worked in the mill. It's a unique view into the history of WNY and is well worth the time. Plus it shares space with a railroad museum so...
