I typically like looking around in this store, and usually find the employees to be likeable and willing to negotiate, except for the girl who works there. Today, I went in to browse and found a pair of silver earrings in a small bag. The bag had a price tag of $1 on it. When I took it up to pay, the guy, glasses and long straggly hair, started examining them saying, “These are sterling silver.” To which I responded,”I know they are.” Then he threw out a price of $5. I told him the sticker on the bag said $1, but his response was , “That’s not our sticker.” I said ,”Well it shouldn’t be on the package then.” He did say he was willing to dicker, but by then , I was so pissed to have a store that typically doesn’t price anything and waits until a knowledgeable customer finds something worthy, before they decide what they want to charge for it. This is extremely bad business practice, and I will never patronize this Junk store again. They don’t through anything, wait for you to find something and then set a price- even if it’s different from what the tag says! DO NOT WASTE YOUT TIME! Terrible...
Read moreWe went to shop at Junktiques today. They encouraged us to shop the storage shop on the corner in addition to the main store. So we went over there as well, and my daughter found two pieces of clothing that she wanted to buy. The guy working at the shed told us they would $10 total and to pay at the main store. When we walked back to the main store, the cashier told us it would be $35!! We went back and got the guy who had told us $10 and he came back with us to explain that he had in fact said $10. The cashier was a complete jerk and said he didn’t care what another employee had told us and it was “unfortunate” for us that we couldn’t buy them for $10. Don’t waste one second of your time with this store that won’t honor their own prices and treats the customer like the villain for expecting them to. I’m so disappointed that we spent any of our...
Read moreThis shop used to be the little hidden gem in Burlington. Its turned into a store that charges as much as they can for garbage the have collected off the streets. When asking for Prices they ask the brand and then jump to a computer to "Value" their sale....Its pathetic. I spent $60 on a ripped up punching bag, broken garden hose holder and hose and a compressor fitting... I offered $40 for the 3 which was way more then value and was haggled to $60. I gave him the $60 knowing it will be my last visit even though I have been going here since they opened, My father loved going here with his pet ferret and finding little treasures and digging threw items. Darn place jumped on this Hipster bandwagon, thinking everyone that walks inside is a rich college student ready to waste $120 on a 17 year old framed...
