Poppy Cafe & Market — Restaurant in Burlington

Just in time. The other day i was decrying the lack of a good sandwich shop in Burlington. Yes, Kountry Kart...it's fine. And yes, the Coop...but there is room for plenty more than that folks! et Voila! Just tried this place today and it's truly good. I tend to eat vegetarian, though not strictly, but since my partner is strict about it i ordered two different vegetarian sandwiches (The Adams and The Fazuul (without prosciutto unhappily). Both were tasty...but my lord the Adams was off the chain! I was eyeing an eggplant based sandwich with some suspicion....that's a hard one to pull off and many pitfalls abound with eggplant starring. but we agreed that it was definitely a world class sandwich. I’m not a sandwich person but when I saw a sign on the door of Poppy’s saying Narcan was available inside, I wanted to support their business. I’m sooooooo glad I did. It turns out that I’m not a sandwich person but I am a Poppy’s sandwich person. You really have to try a Poppy’s sandwich to believe it—the inventive ingredient combinations are literally always delicious. I’ve never had a sandwich there that I did not love, and their cookies are also out of this world. Our city would be a better place if every Burlington business supported the community the way Poppy’s does; until then, I’m so happy to spend my money here on the best sandwiches not just in town but possibly (I don’t think I’m overstating...

Absolutely worth the wait. Some of the best sandwiches in the area but be sure to order ahead as the wait can be long and they sell out quick! Bright and flavorful local ingredients really make Poppy’s sandwiches a standout and an easy competitor for Vermont’s All Around Best Sandwiches (and Lunch!) but don’t sleep on their other offerings like flaky hand pies or perfectly baked cookies and sweets. Usually I have a go-to favorite to recommend but their rotating menu is full of mouth watering options to try with no wrong choices. You will definitely have to come more than once to try the range of different flavor...
