Calabash Trading and Consignment — Attraction in Calabash

A lot to look at but very high prices. I didn't see any "consignment" tags. They usually have a date stamped as to the day the item arrived and when the price would be discounted. At least that's how all the consignment stores I go to work. There was a few artisan's that had booths and their stuff was gorgeous, but most of it was something that I thought, "I could make that." So I have a few more things on my "to make" list... 6/2024 Update and another star demotion. We go to the area periodically to shop and dine and relax. We stopped in and NOT ONE staff member greeting our acknowledged us! The only time someone spoke in our direction was to tell us she was behind us aka "move". The only consignment items I could see were products from locals. There had been a vendor or two that were no longer there (sad). many of the local products are in other stores in the area. Went in today and found some great items outside. One of them had a tag that was taped to it, but nothing written on it. I went inside to ask if they were for sale or what the price would be. The woman working wouldn’t even look me in the eyes. I was trying to show her a picture of the item I was interested in and she refused to look at me. So incredibly rude. Yes, you’re putting more items out for display or whatever, but it was so incredibly rude. And she just goes, “not for sale”. I am a customer asking a question about some of your merchandise, put your stuff down and answer my question. Maybe I’m younger than some of the clientele who frequents your store but now I’m reluctant to buy anything from you. Would not recommend. Overpriced items you can find at homegoods and an ugly...

Recently visited store and saw a gun case I wanted to purchase. They had different “patterns” and prices depending on the size. There was a sign at the booth stating the price for medium and large however the design I liked had a handwritten tag taped to the inside with a lower price ($55 instead of $75). There were two of this same style/size both having the same handwritten tag taped inside. I assumed this was not a good seller for them so they had marked down these two.
