The kids had a blast this last Saturday! There were deer out and wild turkey wondering around. The weather was amazing! We walked the nature trails and seen a buck, many doe's, Turkey's, and hawks. Let the kids have a rock throwing contest to see who can throw the furthest in the river! My grandson is almost 4 and he had so much fun! The nature center was open, but it does close at 2PM and remember to bring your masks. After the nature walk we drove to the picnic area ate lunch and the kids broke up in to teams and played football. Recommend you make a day of it and bring lunch and have fun!

I've been coming to Hoffman since I was a kid and now I enjoy bringing my kids there. It's a beautiful park and place to see the river. We almost always see deer on our visits and if you come in the evenings when the sun is starting to go down it's almost guaranteed. Park over in the nature center parking lot in the early evenings and meander around that area to see the deer coming out to graze. Lots of good walking trails and shaded places to have picnics or BBQs. Come explore and enjoy the beauty and peacefulness.

Very beautiful park. Took my kids on a nature walk. Only thing was the bathrooms where flooded and very messy. Seen lots of wildlife and I also tried to snap a picture of what I think I saw but I had my kids and was trying to get away from the area as fast as we could just incase it was what i thought i saw laying against the dirt. I was upset when I got to the car the picture didn't come out clear. 🤦♀️I will upload it but I did get some nice pictures of the 🦌 and the river was very beautiful

It may not have that big of animal collection, but it sure is one of the most beautiful places in Sacramento. My favorite is the river trail, beautiful nature and river sound melt all the stress away. The staff are really nice in Effie Yeaw especially Mr. Rudy, he is very knowledgeable and passionate about the nature and his art. Consider chipping in if you pay them a visit, all the donations go for the animals care and the park services.

The Ancil Hoffman Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Sacramento/Carmichael area. I frequent this park because it is well maintained and the patrons respect and want to keep this park as beautiful as how they found it. Seeing so many deer 🦌 today made my day magical! It was definitely an enjoyable treat! I’ve captured it in time by the attached photos and wanted to share it with you as well. It’s going to be an amazing day! ❤️

There's a Nature Center with plenty of educational exhibits, both inside and outside. There's also some animals inside. There are hiking trails, all very low difficulty. On my journey, I saw dozens of deer, some only a few feet away. There were close to one hundred turkeys, and one lonely coyote. The trails goo through the woods and alongside the American River. I thoroughly enjoyed my journey!
