I have stayed here quite a few times and have made it my destination of choice when visiting the Sacramento area.

I am not a big casino fan, but the hotel was so welcoming that I only made it to the casino for about an hour out of my entire 3 day stay. The rooms are very spacious with a comfy couch. The table makes a nice work area where I could set up my laptop and get some things done during my visit.

You can ask them to bring a record player and a guitar to your room. Both of these can be set up with headphones if you do not want to disturb your roommates. You can use the TV to choose a guitar lesson. Also, the record player comes with your choice of vinyl. They bring you a stack of records in your favorite music genre. It's fun and nostalgic. I went for the Outlaw Country, then traded out for a Totally 80s set.

Once I used the bed, it was hard to leave. They have the most amazing pillows and sheets. When I commented about how much I liked them, I learned that they are also available for purchase.

The first night, I made my way down to the hot tub. It was a hot tub. It got a bit social for a while. We had poolside service and about 6 strangers in the tub, who eventually became quick dinner friends. Lots of fun, and everyone was so nice.

For dinner, we went with our new friends into the casino. Of course, we had to try out the iconic Hard Rock Cafe. The service was great! There were so many things on the menu to choose from... ribs...steak...burgers...the most amazing tots! I was so undecided, but our waitress pointed out that we could always have room service delivered later for a late snack (til 10pm), which made it easier to order. My friends and I ordered ribs, wings, Mac n cheese, and deep-fried Thai shrimp. We split our orders 3 ways. Then, for room service later we all got burgers, loaded tots (split), and 3 desserts. The food was excellent as well as the room service! Also, the TVs in the dining area played music videos. Did you know that music videos still exist? Well, they do!

Day 2, we stayed poolside. Poolside service made sure that we stayed hydrated and tipsy! I did not swim much, as it was much easier to hold my drink while I sipped from the stairs.

I tried out the gym on day 2 also. It was a gym... cables, free weights, treadmills, ellipticals. Easy to access with your room key, unlike the Vegas Hard Rock, there is no extra fee to use the gym.

Day 2 dinner, we met up with our Hot tub friends and went to the Council Oaks Steak House. Guess what? We ordered steak! It's an a la carte menu. Sides are a separate charge. We did oysters, 2 bottles of wine, a porterhouse split 3 ways, the free bread (so delicious), and 2 sides. Everything was AMAZING, even the wine recommendations. However, our bill was about $300... so worth it!

We did make our way to the Hot tub again. Went also made our way to the casino gift shop and bought a few bottles of wine for the room. We ordered a new set of vinyl. This time, I went for the Grunge set. We also discovered the TV. It's set up with all the favorite streaming apps, Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney. So we literally opened up the wine, Netflix'd and chilled!

Day 3 we spent most of the day with more drinks by the pool. Made our way to the casino. Surprisingly, for a smoking facility, this place is not smokey at all.

For dinner, we tried out the Youyu noodle house. They have a dimsum menu. So we started with the dimsum. Of course, we had to get the Pho. And from the traditional menu, we ordered the Steamed Sea Bass which was to die for! Also, some sesame chicken, a tempura mix, and fried rice. Again... there were too many choices on the menu, so we split 3 ways.

There was a live band performing on the Hard Rock Cafe stage this evening. So we hung out at the center bar and listened to music. Great service from our handsome bartender, Brandon!

It was a great getaway girls trip! Although the location is far from any civilization, we did not need to leave the resort at all. Never a dull moment and really great accommodations and...

Tight machines. Stay away.

Im updating this review - to point out that the next 7–8 reviews after my 1/5 raying are 5/5 and ā€œtranslated by google.ā€ Something smells bad here. LOOKS LIKE AN AI PLUG IN?!? To ensure HR sacramento keeps a higher rating. Another RED FLAG. They are all at the same timeframe from when the reply to my original post was posted.

So there are a few things that are a little bit frustrating and have resulted in this review. And let me preface this by saying that I go often enough and I have one enough to know that it can be fun and that I have given it positive reviews in the past, but as of late, I’ve noticed that some things have definitely changed, this should be a word of caution to anybody who is planning to go up there. First off the machines are extremely tight and consistently trick you into thinking that you’re going to get something and you really don’t. Keep in mind that tribal gaming does not have to report their percentage payback on the machines what is this mean , it means they can be tight and they can be tight as tight and they can manipulated and trick you so be cautious and be aware. Obviously they are working to try to increase funds for this venue perhaps or just to raise funds because it’s expensive doing business in California. Whatever. Would that being said the only redeeming quality sometimes when you lose is to go ahead and get your free meal. I typically will go to the constant Grind coffee shop to get food. The last few times the food has just been downright gross. Mold on my fruit cup And sandwiches that are bland and don’t have any flavor and that are dry. My thing is, if you’re going to take peoples money, at least provide some kind of quality food to leave. At least a good impression on them. It’s sad that that is not the case anymore at the Hard Rock and Sacramento.

I have been scouring the reviews over the past couple of months as I’ve realized that the slots are so tight that the Hard Rock Sacramento should essentially change its name to Hoover because all it does is suck up your money. And I’m speaking from somebody who has definitely won my fair share, and know how to win when I go and play. That’s what kept me going time and time again and I leave feeling like I had a good time. Take this for example the last six times I’ve gone up, I have blown through thousand plus dollars less than 20 minutes. I’m betting in the mid range level we’re talking 5 to 7 dollars a spin sometimes up to 12 just depending on what I’m thinking the machine will do. Needless to say nothing happens not one thing and I’m on multiple machines and nothing happens on anything another sign that they are tightening up and you can see the grand just growing and nobody winning them. When it comes to free play, Hard Rock , once again is extremely tight I started off with a good amount of Free play In 2021 and my play has increased yet my free play has decreased with another substantial decreased For this next month.

So what is this review? Meant to accomplish? Just watch your dollars. Don’t let the gambling become habitual because they are a business that is looking to make money and the winning is so few and far between at this point it makes me really question the motives, the hook that brought me in Was done under the pretense that I would become hooked and I would continue to try to play and play and play until I go broke. And do you know who will not be there when that happens? At the end of the day, I am no concern for them.

Beware of any place that totally disregards a review. Be doubly aware when they answer with the same copied response to all the other reviews regarding the money grab. This tired response doesn’t address the problem! What’s that equate to? Nothing will change. It is pathetic and sad.

Update 7/30 - machines are still tight. I wonder how it’s going Hard Rock? There’s hardly any cars in your parking lot. Places are packed on night like tonight and there’s nobody in...

I have been coming to the hard rock for well over a year. I get comps a couple times per week. The front desk knows me. I travel with my disabled young adult son who has Down syndrome and autism. He’s always with me. Security knows him and me. We are regulars, we are known at the hard rock. Tonight, we had a two night comped stay. When we arrived, I could not find my card to check in for the $100 incidental deposit. That has never EVER happened before, in the almost 2 years of staying here. I looked for it in my car for an hour in the hotel parking lot but could not find it. Then I realized I left it in the atm at the bank 40 miles away!! It’s the only card I had at the time. I explained to the front desk what had happened and asked if I could give them $100 cash deposit, which I had, until tomorrow morning, when I could drive back to the bank in Roseville and get my card back. They said NO. My disabled young adult son needed to check into our room. He was anxious, tired, and it was time for his night time therapy medicines. Very important. He was seated on a chair at the outside of the cafe looking on at me waiting to go to our room. That is all he wanted. He needed quiet and away from stimulation. We are over 2 hrs away from where we reside. ā€œBRANDYā€ the manager on duty, came out and was not kind. She had no sympathy, no kindness, no warmth, and definitely did not care about my son whatsoever. She did not care about US. We are returning customers. I am an ICON rewards member. We have a long history of being well behaved and respected guests. But BRANDY said, NO. No card, no room. I said, may I give you a cash deposit of $100 until tomorrow morning when I can get to the bank to get my card back. Then, I can give you the card in the morning and you can return the. the cash deposit. NO. NO. NO. That’s not our ā€œpolicy.ā€ I said, of course it isn’t your policy, I am aware of that, but this was a unforeseen unexpected, unfortunate thing that just happened and we really need to be able to get checked into our room, then resolve it first thing in the morning. NO. Harsh cold NO. I asked for her supervisor. She said she is her own supervisor. I asked for the CEO AND she said there isn’t one. She said she’s the manager and that’s it. Then she said she is CHARGING US $100 for a ā€œNO SHOW.ā€ fee. Yep. You heard it. All TRUE. She would not make any exception for our unfortunate circumstance. She would not take a cash deposit of $100, the same amount she would be charging a card. She would not wait until tomorrow morning for me to bring her a card. We had a two night stay. She said, what if someone breaks into your room and messes it up, I won’t have a card to charge you for it. Give me a break Brandy!! In two years, no one has broke into our room! So, I find an emailing my inbox from MARK BIRTHA, President of the hard rock Sacramento, who I get emails from after my stays, wanting to know how my stay was, and did they meet my expectations. He will be receiving a long email and phone call from me about what happened and how BRANDY treated us. This is just NOT OKAY to do to a disabled young adult. It’s really ugly. Brandy’s whole demeanor and behavior toward me snd my son was so cold hearted and UNKIND. The treatment we received was just disgusting...
