Mother's day. We had an issue paying to park. The attendant was missing. And envelope instructions were unclear. He did eventually appear, but he seemed quite high. The grandaughter and girls had fun. I tried to fish off left of the beach area. No fish, but I went thru the motions, and it was satisfying until... Guy, with german Shepard, showed up and started playing fetch across my line in the water. Not wanting to hurt the dog, I tried to make it clear that there were sharp hooks, and the owner didn't seem to care. So I'm sitting there, line out. And here comes the guy with the drone boat, and he's running it full speed up and down the bank. Of course, he runs it into my $25 braided, unbreakable line. Thus finishing my fishing and most likely ruined his toy boat. It costs $10 to park here. It's better here during weekdays, but avoid holidays and weekends...

Beautiful park on the river with a very sweet little pebble beach. Definitely bring your water shoes. The moment we arrived we could hear the water. Just a few yards down river are sb7ome very boisterous Rapids. There are a lot of large river rocks lining the brief hike to the Rapids so watch your step! This little park ended up being a meeting spot for the drivers of our school field trip we coukd all arrive together at the Coloma Outdoor Discovery School, just a few moments away from Henningsen Lotus Park. We only spent a few moments here but gleaned they have bathroom facilites, a soccer field and plenty of parking. The kids all gravitated to the little 'work out' area because the field was closed for reseeding. It was hilarious! Kids will play...

There's nice grass, a good walking path around the edge, lots of parking, public restrooms, lots of open space for field sports, picnic tables, water fountains, and an open beach on the American River with shallow water that you can wade or swim in. It's also a popular pull-out location for rafting trips that start at Coloma. I love this park.

What keeps it at 4 stars is that it lacks a playground and the water does have a current, so kids who aren't strong swimmers should be watched. Also, there is a fee for parking (usually the toll booth is empty, so this is based on the...

Beautiful and secluded. This part of the American river is in the picturesque foothills adjacent to Coloma state park. The weather is usually warm and very little wind allows for a perfect place to spend the day with family, friends and even the family pets. The water is chilly but refreshing during the hot days of summer. Free to park if you know where to go. Just look for the cars parked off of lotus road and hwy 49.

Very nice and awesome area to spend a quality day in the nature. It has a nice field for lot of activities and lot of grills for barbeque. There is a fee of$ 5.00 for the day use with quite enough parking spaces for cars and trailers if you would like to bring your kayaks. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed today being there.
