We’ve lived in the Central Valley and driven by knights ferry countless times. We finally decided to visit today. It was beautiful. I’d call this a hidden gem in the valley. The bridge and old town site were very interesting. The rocks and river were beautiful and there was ample area for exploring and picnicking. I’ll be going back in the summer to swim and enjoy the area again.

$5.00 to park and you you have a fun filled day. Not only do you get a picturesque bridge but all that nature has to offer. Simple hikes for the entire family, even Fido. Bring your picnic grub and enjoy alfresco. There are bbq pits, picnic tables and plenty of parking lots. During the summer you can kayak down the river too. Two nearby restaurants and an ice cream shop.

We were just passing by when we decided to stop. It's quite a fun place with historical buildings, the covered bridge and access to the river. There are several short hiking trails in the area by the river as well. The place seems popular with tourists and I suppose it gets packed during summer. Lots of picnic and BBQ spots around.

Very preserved historical area. Awesome view and photography area from the top of the hill behind The Mill House... Off to the side of the entrance there is access with steps made into the rocks that lead to the underside of the bridge. Starts out easy but gets a little sketchy about 3/4 of the way down. Do not advise it as accessible for feeble individuals or young children without support, they could very easily end up falling and getting severely hurt and possibly falling into the...

During a Sunday drive along the "back roads" last year, we "just happened" to see this little known landmark and stopped into investigate.  We were surprised to learn that this bridge was actually used as a toll road back in the mid 1800's!

The kids and I walked through this historic bridge and explored the old buildings on site and even had a chance to go into a small museum!  This place isn't listed anywhere that I know of but it's worth the drive for an outing...
