We stopped at La Rochelle winery with a large group for my wife's 30th birthday. No one (outside of myself) had ever heard of La Rochelle. However, since the visit, no one can stop talking about it.
We reserved the Polyphony Pinot Noir tasting and were blown away by the value that Chuck delivers. The experience itself is extremely accessible, educational, and - above all - delicious. We tasted 10-12 wines (very healthy pours) and learned about different techniques (yeast strains, different clones, terroir, and blending) that wine makers employ to provide complexity to their wine and to achieve a certain end product.
We arrived early and were greeted with a glass of wine, followed by the tasting. Afterwards, we hung out with Chuck and chatted about the past, present, and future of the winery and Sonoma. It was an experience to remember.

The staff exchanged email with us to plan for our tasting and we were able to taste several wines, mostly pinot noir, but none like the other. The best part was being able to sit with them and ask questions about the wine and the process of making it.
