I had taken my parents to VJB cellars to have a nice Mother's Day lunch but we left hungry. We ordered two sandwiches and a vegetarian pizza, and we liked the pizza enough to order another. However, when we got the second pizza, it had no cheese on it. Here is a summary of what happened when we asked why there was no cheese on our pizza:
We were initially told that the ingredients rotated and cheese wasn't on the ingredient list for the pizza at the moment. Considering that we had just eaten the exact same pizza and also read the sign inside saying what was on the vegetarian pizza at the moment, we were fairly certain that cheese was an ingredient. We were then told that we had ordered a pizza with no cheese. All we had said was that we had ordered a vegetarian pizza and our receipt said that too. Nowhere did it say "no cheese". We were told that they would remake our pizza and bring it out. When they brought it out again, it was the same pizza we had gotten initially with little pieces of cheese that had clearly been added on top melted and a burnt crust. Entirely unappealing and inedible. After going inside and talking to more staff, we were told that the person who took our order had been new and made a mistake. Then why would you lie to us multiple times about a) the ingredients changing, b) us ordering a pizza with no cheese, and c) the fact that you were going to remake our pizza?
In the end, we had our order cancelled and refunded, but not after wasting our time trying to get a second pizza and getting lied to by staff. All they had to do was say sorry, own up to their mistake, and fully remake our pizza initially, but clearly that was too difficult for them to accomplish.
Also, the sandwiches were overpriced for what they were - which was taken right out of a display case and pressed before being brought to us - nothing...
Read moreI visited this vineyard back in July when I was visiting Sonoma with Friends. I really enjoyed the vineyard and decided I'd sign up for the wine club. Fast forward to September 1st when I received notification that I was able to select my wine and had until September 15th to respond or they would ship me a case. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I was unable to afford a case of wine and decided is was best to cancel with intent to purchase wine in the future. I sent an email on September 2nd stating that I wanted to cancel my membership (to which I had not made a purchase on yet). On September 4th, I received a voicemail and email, but was out of town and did not respond, but also didn't think to respond since I had already made my cancellation clear via email and was tied up with personal matters. Yesterday, I was shocked when I received a note at my door that I missed a package of wine that was delivered to my house. After some research, I discovered I was in fact charged $579 for a case of wine that I had requested to be cancelled prior to the September 15th deadline. When I called VJB, I was directed to Mike who told me that it was unethical of me to cancel the subscription when he did call me and they also waived my tasting fees back in July (later to discover on my credit card that was a lie and I had been charged). They cancelled the subscription, but did not bother to waive my tasting fees or hold true to my initial request of cancellation in the first place. This is very shady and in extremely poor taste with customer service. This has left a sour taste in my mouth with the way they do business and I will not...
Read moreI had the most wonderful experience at VJB Winery while celebrating my and my mom’s birthdays with our group! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warmth and kindness, making us feel right at home. Our host, Kim, was fantastic – she not only took the time to educate us on the wines but was also incredibly patient and attentive to our needs.
Maria, the owner, personally checked in to make sure everything was perfect, and her kindness truly stood out. Mike, the vice president, even came to our table to introduce himself and ensure we were enjoying our visit, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The staff around our table were always making sure we were comfortable, especially since the sun kept shifting and making things a bit tricky. They were so considerate and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time there.
The wine was so good – each pour was amazing and complemented the food perfectly. The deli staff were equally friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the ribs and pizza – they were incredible. The winery itself is stunning, with an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Italy.
We were so impressed that we became members, and we can’t wait to return! I highly recommend VJB Winery to anyone looking for a memorable experience with excellent wine, food,...
