Keeping up with our theme of getting outside and enjoying life despite contrary opinions and proper protocols during the Coronavirus, yesterday, Thursday March 4, 2921. together me and my dear friend enjoyed a lovely day at Micke Grove Regional Park & Zoo. Entrance to the Park is only $5 per car, and entrance to the Zoo only $5. What a lovely day outside enjoying being out and amongst the delightful landscaped grounds and animals of the zoo. Masks worn in place, and a beautiful day set the stage for a much needed zoo visit. I hadn’t been to this Zoo in at least 20 years, and what a pleasant surprise it was. Lots of changes to the landscape. Just a beautiful layout of the zoo incorporating some old with much of the new. I really enjoyed the accessed aviary of which inside you’ll find birds, ducks of a different feather, and some you’ll recognize with a real water feature. The aviary closes for the day at 3pm. If I didn’t already know that I was at this Zoo, then, I wouldn’t recognize it. I am impressed, and I enjoyed this visit. Relaxed and not busy this day. I will return. It’s convenient to the surrounding areas, and I recommend visiting at any time. Photos and video are with this Review. Thanks.

Took grandbabies (ages 4 & 5) to the zoo. Not many animals but enough for the price. Which I thought was affordable at $18 for 2 adults and 2 children. There was a $5.00 fee to enter the park. And I took my 2 dogs and was told that would be an additional $2. Even though we were only going to be there for 1 hour I didnt mind paying. We also took the kids to the Japanese garden which was already closing but the caretaker let us take a walk thru. There was a Koi pond, waterfall and many beautiful flowers and trees. Plenty of parking. There is also a waterpark which I didnt know about or we would have brought our suits and towels. They also have a few rides for the kids but that closed at 4pm( website said closing was at 5pm) Overall a beautiful park with lots to do. The dogs loved chasing the squirrels. And I enjoyed laying on the grass in the shade looking up at the marvelous trees.

To label this place, a zoo is a far reach!!! We were visiting from out of town and asked Google for a zoo. Going there, we were prepared to walk and need drinks and a stroller/wagon for the little ones! NONE of that was needed. It was a longer walk from the parking lot to the front gate than around the entire animal site! We made the most of it but would not recommend spending the time or money to go there. They had a very small playground that my little ones played on for a little bit. We saw 6 animals.....tiger, eagle, 2 lemurs, some sort of small rodents, and birds!!!! It took 10 minutes or less to walk the small enclosed circle.

Ever since me and my now husband where about 18 and 19 years old, we would come here for "cheap dates" as we got older we always felt this was such a special place. We choose to get married her about 13 years later may 22nd 2022. In the midst of the 13 years we also took pictures here with our new born son in 2016. It has always been a special place. And by getting married here, and sharing special memories with our son, made it so much more special. It's beautiful and affordable ♡♡♡ we had 100 people there. Small and so cute !! Just look at the pictures. Thank you Mickeys groove! Yall rock!

It is so sad to see these animals caged in like a prison. The bobcat was beautiful tho he looked so bored poor guy. Then they have the hawk in the TINIEST caged area which was so sad to see. As we watched him he was gazing up looking beyond the caged area he was in, looked like he was daydreaming of flying free. 😥 Next to the hawk I can't remember what animal was there, I just remember it was alot smaller than the hawk, but had a HUGE area to reside in. We were really excited to visit, but we both left in tears. Because our hearts ached for the freedom of these beautiful creatures.

Your GPS may lead you to a service entrance, so just make sure you follow the signs for the Zoo/park entrance. It is $5 for entry and if you are going to the zoo, that is a separate entrance fee as well. The park has several playgrounds as well as covered areas that you can reserve. These covered areas typically have picnic tables, a restroom, horseshoe pit, and a playground nearby. There is also a few areas that are shaded and have a bbq pit for smaller parties. The park area is generally quiet and very well shaded. They also do have a water splash pad for kids.
