Skyline Church is a gem. Walking in, I get the immediate feeling of joy & recognition with the many people smiling and saying hi or good morning to me. So many happy faces. The main pastor, Jeremy McGarity is on fire for Christ, straight up funny, and extremely relatable with his messages and sermons. Full of examples in today's world and often spoken with humor infused. Jeremy is down to earth relatable for many. They can help you find and Follow Christ.
The church also has one of the best child care and school programs around. If my daughter was still of school age, I would definitely trust Skyline for her care or education.
Besides the 9:00 am & 11:00am services Skyline offers (as of July 2022), they also have studies and classes to learn more after service and thru-out the week. Women's groups and studies, men's groups and studies, a program for going thru break ups, separation, or divorce, a program for fighting addictions, a program for grieving, a program for battling hangup of any kind, a 2Be1 relationship program, and on and on. It's a fantastic church to attend and grow in community with. They have many public events throughout the year like fathers day car show, A Christmas snowy fun wonderland, Summer nights worship in the park, going on in July now.
Lastly the church has an awesome Cafe within the lobby bookstore and outside as well. Oh my pictures are from Christmas time.
Check them out. You'll likely be...
Read moreThis review is specifically about the Young Adults ministry. I came from Awaken Church, where I always felt welcomed and connected in their young adults group. I recently started attending this church because it’s closer to home, and I was hopeful to get plugged in.
Unfortunately, after attending twice, I’ve felt incredibly unwelcome. The environment feels very cliquey—almost like being back in high school. I even sat with another girl who was alone by the fire pit, and she mentioned feeling the same way.
I later brought it up with some girls at Bible study (who all attend different churches), and four of them said they had tried Skyline’s young adults and felt the exact same way. There’s something off, especially in the way the volunteers engage—or don’t engage—which I believe is contributing to the problem.
This kind of atmosphere can be dangerous, especially for a new or “baby” Christian who’s trying to grow in their faith. Imagine showing up, hoping to connect, and instead being met with coldness or exclusion. That kind of experience can easily lead to church hurt and turn people away from community entirely.
I genuinely believe this church has so much potential, and I’m rooting for you to grow in this area. I hope someone takes a serious look at how your young adults ministry is operating—because it really...
Read moreI originally heard pastor Dr. Jeremy McGarity on a local Christian radio station so when I discovered that he had a church in the area, I decided to check it out. One day before my first attendance, I reached out through their prayer ministry via email concerning healing & received a response the next day. My first visit for Thursday service was indeed very positive. I met a man at the visitors table who saw me wearing a medical boot on my foot, asked me what the problem was & prayed for me right there on the spot for healing! I next entered the church & everyone was so friendly & inviting. The sanctuary was very spacious & comfortable. Dr. McGarity’s sermon was excellent & very biblically sound. I filled out a guest card while I was there & received a phone call several hours later from the ministry praying with me over my health. That was a very nice & unexpected surprise to say the least. I also received a hand written note from the prayer ministry in the mail stating that they had prayed over my situation. What a comfort that is! I feel so much at peace now & believe God is going to bring health, healing & restoration in the future.Very impressed with Skyline & the love I feel here. I am now a regular attendee & look forward to serving in some kind of way when I am healed. Highly recommend by this...
