Golden Bay Asian Food — Restaurant in Spring Valley

This has new management from the past. We are finding the variety of the menu to be excellent. If you can’t find a style of asan food in this menu you are too picky.

We have only eaten takeout. This is a good place to swing by off of 94 on your way to and from. We have found the service quick and timely. I also like takeout containers are compostable. I am an old school tree hugger.

The lady of the house isn’t very adventurous while I am both looking for variety, spice, and styles. Most of the food would be basically Chinese style wok meals with flare. First off there’s a lot of food without filler. So consider each item to be a serving of Four for teenage boys! We are empty nesters and the lady lives leftovers. As such two items keeps us fed for a while.

Last night was lady’s night so we had sweet and sour chicken with mixed vegetables. It was very much standard chicken with a nice sauce with some sweet pineapple, onions and carrots. Very tasty version of an old standard. Second dish was the mixed vegetables. Again a standard Cantonese wok stir fry. Lots of variety of fresh mixed vegetables. The sauce allowed the perfectly cooked veggies’ flavor to pass through. I get to pick next so we are gonna get a more ‘Interesting’ selection. Just don’t expect everything to match what a specialized restaurant would do exactly. .

If you have a bunch people over and you want quick but wholesome meal that will please everyone I’d get a feast from here. Plop the containers in the table and have at it. Just make sure you get the Salt and Pepper chicken. If you have teens get a big helping.

My fathers family is Asian. So we judge based on the steamed rice. You know, if you know what I mean. The rice passes the test . Of course we usually have our own rice that we start when we order.

Got the orange chicken combo with egg flower soup(so creamy) and the salt and pepper wings which are not pictured. The food was 10/10. Orange chicken was sweet and had juicy chicken. Everything was made fresh. Came out steaming hot. The salt and pepper chicken wings were to die for- chicken juicy and the extra seasoning on top was delicious. Got the 8 piece cream cheese wontons and those were good too! I would come here again, and i would bring the family next time too. More expensive than the last owners but you are given way more food and the food quality seems to be better.
