First time in Lake Arrowhead area and first climb up to the Strawberry Peak Fire Outlook Tower. We don't know dog not allow enter the gate, so my wife and dog stay in car, I went to the top, such a stunning visual field and the staff so warm and friendly to welcome me and explain to me how the tower is works. the AI told that they are volunteers! such wonderful people, they was explaining to me what happens if they were to see smoke in the mountains, and how the dispatch system works. They also showed me how they triangulate where the fire is based on a device built in the 1920s!
They're all so helpful, they also told us where to go during our stay, as they're locals.
Honestly, great views and wonderful volunteers doing great work to protect the community, and the mountains of San Bernardino. Please pay them a visit! Your attendance matters to them, as it keeps the post open!

Admittance is FREE, yet donations are needed. Does not meet ADA standards. The way up is very steep yet the views are worth the cardio for the ascent. Open daily from Memorial Day to mid-November.
There are a total of 7 (seven) lookout towers in the area. Fires are reported to USFS headquarters in San Bernardino. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs prohibited.
