Fraudulent business. I was on my way up to big bear when I was stopped and told I needed chains. I asked around where I could get some and was told to try Mountain High market. There was only one employee working whom I found out later was new. I’ve never had any experience with chains until this day, so I asked the employee if it was better to have 4 chains or two for my front wheel drive sedan. She said 4 would be better so I asked to buy 4. I placed my phone displaying a photo of my tire and tire size on the booklet and the employee helped me find my chain size, or so I thought. She went to the back room and came back with a bag of chains. She explained the no refund policy and I bought the chains with my debit card. When I opened the bag, I found two chains instead of the four I had requested. Additionally, they weren’t the right size. They were unusable, not even close to fitting. I asked the lady to return them and she refused, stating there were no refunds. I told her, “I understand the policy but you sold me the incorrect item. I asked for four chains and you sold me two that don’t fit my car. If you don’t accept the return this is fraud.” She called her manager, Kelly, who instructed her not to complete the refund. I decided to try to go up the mountain anyhow and had a great day of skiing (apparently the chains didn’t need to be on my car, I had to have them with me just in case). On my way back down I decided to stop by Mountain High in hopes a manager or different employee with better morals might be there. A different employee was there, and I told her I was sold the wrong item and it would be fraudulent if they didn’t honor the return. She called Kelly again, and Kelly told her to not honor the refund. I asked to speak to Kelly and was refused, so I told them I was calling the police. The police showed up and I made a police report. I left my chains on the counter and left. I filed a fraud report with my credit card company who finished the investigation and reimbursed me today with the 140$ I spent on a single pair of chains. Chains cost 50$ at Walmart. This shop is committing highway robbery on the regular and is fraudulent in its business practices. DO NOT BUY FROM MOUNTAIN HIGH MARKET. Do not support a business that scams its customers. Kelly is scum of the earth ordering her employees to commit fraud on her behalf. Do not support this illegal...
Read moreI needed just one item. However, I went home with 6. This little market appears to not only meet the needs of the community, but the needs of weekenders and anybody else just up here for the day. The staff was friendly as well as very helpful. I will definitely make this little market my GoTo place for quick...
Read moreYes, it's convenient if you live in the area. However, the only friendly staff member was fired. Owner's aren't very nice. Ridiculously overpriced, especially during snow storms. Thanks for gouging your neighbors! I only stop here if I am desperate. Gas station at four...
