Swedetown Recreation Area — Attraction in Calumet Township

This area is so nice in the summer! Great hiking trails, peaceful nature, yes there are bugs…they live there too.

We went specifically to “Greet the Goats”. This is a really neat community project organized by the Keweenaw invasive species management agency and others. they are using goats to eat wild Buckthorn, which is an invasive species of plant. Not a place to overlook. Great trails to pair with a day partially spent at copper or completely on its own! Surprising amount of trails here could keep you busy for hours. Nice park but all the trails were mud filled and impassable. If you are looking to fish though there are very nice platforms...
