Poor customer service. I called this store while shopping at another Michaelâs in Westwood to ascertain if they had 4 of the same items in stock. Before requesting for the items to be held at the register, I asked the clerk who answered the phone to price the items to ensure they were the same price. She did and agreed to hold the items for me at the register.
When I arrived the store to pick up the items less than an hour later, the price per item was $10 more than I paid at the other store. I showed two salespeople the receipt from the Westwood store and they agreed that the bar code was the same.
I, along with one of the salespeople, walked to the aisle where the item was stored and sure enough, it was on the shelf for the same price as the other store. Well, the manager, Emily refused to honor it and claimed it was âmislabeledâ even though at least 3 of the same items on the shelf. She said that since the item was buy 1 get 1 free, she couldnât rationalize applying another discount. It wasnât a discount, it was the advertised price ON YOUR STORE SHELF.
They didnât even correct the âmislabeledâ tag leaving future customers to have the same troubles.
I left without the items and will not be patronizing this store again. They couldâve made a sale, but their poor customer service sabotaged that sale and any future sales I had...
Read moreReally unsatisfied by the customer service at this location. I came in for a 24" x 36" foam board, which they don't carry. Not a huge problem (although what art supply store doesn't carry foam board larger than 20" x 30"?). The problem was that it took me 15 minutes of walking around the store to get the attention of an employee. I finally found two, and they sent me back and forth around the store until they finally admitted that 20" x 30" was the largest foam board they carried. When I asked if I could buy a large foam tri-board and have it cut down, one of the employees said they could give me a pair of scissors. They finally said that framing could cut down a piece of mat board for me. Framing told me that they don't cut their mat board in house, so employees aren't even aware of what services their own store offers. I had a few other items to buy anyway but there was a line at checkout and only one register open, so I left without buying anything. Location is convenient but not worth the frustration of the poor...
Read moreThis Michaels location is convenient for those with a car, public transit, or communing by bike. I biked again and there were plenty of bike rack spots open at the entrance to the parking lot by Mass Ave. The parking lot tends to be a bit busy, but you can generally find a parking spot, and the Porter Square T stop is at the edge of the parking lot.
Most of the time I go to this Michaels for yarn and yarn notions. This time I came for silk flowers. As is usually the case, there were a number of things on sale, which I appreciated.
The store seemed to have less stuff in it than on past trips (something that could be related to decreased in store shopping due to COVID or could be related to the transition from holiday stock to traditional inventory). I still found everything I needed! I also was greeted by several employees checking in to see if they could assist me in...
