As a longtime Cambridge resident (longtime as in just over 25 years) and mother of 3 Cambridge kids, Porter square has always been a cool place. My youngest LOVES "The Gift of Wind" Sculpture by Susumu Shingu. It's not quite as red as my childhood but its still one of Cambridges most visable artistic landmarks. As it marks the T it also is across from Porter Square Shopping center. I actually dont live far from here so I pop over to the grocery store weekly. During these weekly visits, i also pop into the bookstore which is fabulous. Then theres Michael's which is large and has the embroidery floss I go for. Then theres the stop for my youngest. Henry Bears Park. Wonderful store. Theres a CVS, a Target, a wine store, a Dunkies for coffee junkies (like me!) . It's all pretty great. The parking is still a BIT of a mess though theres ample space, there's some parts that are tights and busy with both...

Nice mall. Very bad security guard! I lived in the neighborhood and love to come for shopping stuffs very often. Today had a bit argument with new security guard. Then guess what he towed my car! The main reason he said is because he saw me parked the car and went out. I explained that I went to get cash from ATM and he could verify it from the security camera that I came back in 5 mins. Also I explained that I then did hang around in various stores and bought stuffs for about 40 mins before I planned to drive the car and leave. I bet he uses the job convenience to purposely personal attack and penalize me because I have some disagreement with him earlier. Then the property manager (Carol) get involved and waived the towing cost. Still 2 hour of my times wasted and lots of angry! Watch out the security guards there because they have no respect to the customers....
