Not much of beach property. The path is rocky and somewhat dangerous. Would not recommend swimming here . The cove is filled with ultra sharp rocks (swimming shoes are a must). Water is ICE cold — even in the summer months it was chilly 64 degrees. Ram Island lighthouse is North of here and not accessible.

This is a fantastic beautiful beach. The people who are leaving bad reviews had some strange expectations or something from the start. Come down Sea View and park on the side of the road rather than Birch Knolls like navigation will tell you.

Our boat tour captain told us to check out this beach and it was picturesque. The only problems were that it was a little crowded while we were there and the parking closest to the beach was resident only.

This beach is a joke and not a real beach at all ! 1. It is not on the Ocean, rather on a shipping channel. 2. Parking is very limited, 3. you need water shoes because it is a mix of rocks and sand where u go to swim, 4. given the close proximity to Portland with water flowing in and out with the tides there always exists a possibility of Fecal Contamination and there is no testing done at this location. 5. The stairway is steep and not easily accessible for those with any kind of temporary or permanent disability. 6. It is very small and at High Tide you are crowded in tight w others. 7 there are no public restrooms at the beach or anywhere nearby.

Kettle Cove, Crescent, Higgins, Scarborough and Ferry beaches are a much...

This beach was previously only known by a handful of residents and locals, if that. The last few years have seen an increase in visitors, likely due to review sites such as this one :)

The beach itself is composed of rocks, so no sand to be found here. Parking is maybe 5-6 spots total, if that many. When the tide is at its highest, you do not have too much beach to work with, but you can't beat the view of Portland...

I think there was a reason it was referred to as a secret beach: Unless its dead low tide its essentially a pile of rocks that are dangerous to walk across. I have lived near it for 10 years and have gone a few times but Kettle Cover is a much better spot with safe parking and lots of sand. Most people i know avoid it and I hear that parking enforcement is...
