Monte Alegre Vineyard/Cellars — Attraction in Carbondale

This was actually my first visit to a winery where I got to have a wine tasting, but I thought this place was so amazing. My mom and I went there today, as part of our weekend trip of Southern Illinois wineries (I call it Paradise Lush), and we were immediately greeted by the sweetest dog and the most cordial owner, David. He was extremely welcoming and friendly the entire time we were there, he gave us very in-depth information on the wines we were tasting and how they were prepared, and the wine itself was better than anything I'd ever had. I'm not a big wine person and I don't care for dry reds just yet, but all of the reds we tasted had such amazing flavors and the complementary foods he served brought each flavor out perfectly.
