Large beach and picnic area, boat ramps for accessing IL largest man-made lake. Also had a large sailboat harbor. Bait shop rents kayaks. The walk across the shoulder dam and over the dam and along the river and some trails thru the woods are BEAUTIFUL. The parks in town have tennis, pickleball, cornhole, boccie ball courts and Frisbee golf, baseball fields and a swimming pool. The town has a beautiful library.

Clean, peaceful, beautiful place with plenty to do for everybody. Playgrounds for the kids, Cooking and camping areas, swimming and fishing, visitors center, hiking trails and so much more. I've been going to Carlyle Lake for 40 years, and will go for as long as I can.

This is a nice park, however it is very difficult to get into. They have many strange rules so they can get their local friends in and keep travelers guessing! Don’t waste your time going there as it’s basically a locals park and there are so many other nice Corps parks that don’t...
