We were traveling from Virginia with a camper trailer, spending a night at the campground in Carlyle. When we pulled off the interstate, the brake light came on and it took a little longer to stop than normal. We could see there was something leaking from the back axle. Being from out of town and it being late in the afternoon, we had no idea what to do or where to go, but we got a recommendation to take our truck to Bittle Automotive.
We showed up first thing the next morning. Mr. Bittle told us he had 2 cars ahead of us but it was not a major problem and he’d have us on the road that day. He determined that the rear brake line was not flanged properly when it was installed previously, and the brake line had likely been leaking ever since. We spent the morning walking around Carlyle, while he took care of the truck. After fixing the line, the brakes were still spongy, so he bled the lines of air. Turned out there was air in the front line.
Just after lunch, he finished up. He only charged us for 1.2 hours of labor and no parts, supplies, or other charges! $90 and we were on our way! I wish we lived closer, as he has earned our trust as an...
