The good part- Started out wonderful. Kids loved the go carts with me then we went into the museum and had alot of fun.
The bad part. I paid 45.00 + 3 for parking and that was fine but there was no one to guide u to we had to pay so I had to ask . I heard an announcement about something closing but I couldn't understand it. So I ask a women that work there to direct me to the pedal boat ride and she told me it was closed already so I tell her how could that be she says yes they close at 430 it was 4:35 so I told her that I didn't get to do it and I paid for everything here she calls a manager and while I waited for the manager she tells me they close at 5 o'clock I said you kidding me so I tell her well I want to go to the plane at least so I can take some pictures with the kids she says well the plane closes at 4 and again I said you got to be kidding me so finally the manager comes and I told her you know they should have mentioned when I got the tickets the time that the place closes because I paid to do all the events and all I got to do was the go-karts and the museum I didn't get to do the petting zoo I didn't get to do the plane or anything else in there so she tells me okay we going to give you credit so I ask her if I can just come back tomorrow since they still got the passes for the peddle boat can I come back tomorrow she says no you can't I said okay I'll take the credit and I asked her what credit am I getting she says $6 I said you got to be kidding me I didn't get to do anything here but the museum and just the go-karts and she says I'm sorry that's all we can do for you I said okay keep the $6 the museum could use it more than I can. I was very upset that something that started with so much fun, ended up with alot of disappointment.
Don't get me wrong i would still recommend this place. I just think the manager could have done better. I had more fun in this kids museum than the kids museum...
Read moreI’ll start by saying the museum is great as is the playground, and we are members and go frequently.
I have two primary complaints: the museum closes at 5 pm (including all museum facilities) and they start asking people to prepare to leave at 4:45. This is weirdly early for a place like this to close, especially since many parents are constrained in when they can visit because of children’s naptimes. Additionally, in Carolina it is extremely hot in the middle of the day, making the mini zoo and playground essentially unusable until late afternoon; the museum’s closing time is right at the time of day when it would be most pleasant for families to enjoy the park and outdoor facilities.
Secondly, while the museum is well-staffed, few of the staff members appear motivated or excited to create positive engagement or educational experiences with the children who visit. Working at a place like this is a great job and I’m certain there are many people, particularly young adults, who are passionate about early childhood education and who could more proactively engage with visitors.
The museum is also really missing out on a significant revenue opportunity with the gift shop, which has very few educational gifts (or any kind of gifts for that matter) available.
I’d still highly encourage anyone with kids to visit as it is a great place with a lot to keep...
Read moreThis childrens museum is amazing! There are 2 stories of exhibits on everything from transportation to construction, magnetism, electricity, alternate energy, oceans, and they have a volcano indoors and an airplane outdoors! We were initially confused by the reservation system on their website but had no issue buying tickets inside. Even with multiple schools in attendance, this place is so spatious you could hardly tell anyone was there! All signage inside is billingual english spanish, so my son (4 yo, english only) had no issue interacting with the exhibits. The indoor space is thoughtfully arranged and air conditioned. If you choose to do the other outdoor activities, some of them have an additional charge (zoo, boat ride, go carts), but we spent most of our time indoors. Even with a 4yo's short attention span, it took at least 3 hours to see/interact with everything inside. Unlike other childrens museums, this museum supports a variety of age groups, and my son was probably on the younger end for some of their exhibits. This would be appropriate for all elementary school-aged children, and if you're traveling to PR with your family, it's 100% worth a stop. Some of my favorite things to do (yes, adults can have fun too) were the stop motion movie maker and the giant magnet wall for spatulas and other...
