I was there for Christmas in the village event, so that's what this will be reviewing. I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed by the number of Christmas lights (especially considering this event isn't free to enter). It's incredibly small and there wasn't much of anything to do. The horse drawn transport was a nice touch, but the grounds are too small to get much enjoyment out of it and there not being much to look at. Overall, it's a nice little thing to do if you're a local, but I wouldn't recommend it to those not already in the area and 100% do not use this as your main Christmas lights experience.

Such a cool place to learn some history. The role-players are much more than role playing. They are historical subject matter experts who enjoy teaching. I watched as a young group of teenagers were fascinated by the gentleman running the printing press. It's so good to see that young people are interested in history. My personal favorite was the blacksmith. Go check it out. The donuts were amazing too.

Awesomw for kids to explore. Very educational and detailed. If you go during Dakota Fair Days you will see people dressed up back in that time pwriod. There is an old firehouse, post office, bank, general store, school, church, jail, train depot, and many other places too. Dirt roads and see back in that time.come alive.

We decided to have our wedding her and were under the impression that we would be the only people there. We were so wrong! They had two other events! We had to keep telling people they could not be around where we were and then the other event their music was too loud! They told me they would make sure no one would bother us at all during our time there because they refuse to cancel the other events. They did not follow that and when we complained to the person who was supposed to be there to make sure they did not interrupt us they said they could be here too! DO...

This is a great place to come and explore things of the past in the turn of the century village. No matter what your age you will find something to peak your interest. Enjoy singing Christmas carols in the church. Watch the blacksmith, print maker, or the cabinet maker as they work their trade. Go visit the barbershop and catch up on the latest. Feel free to ask all the questions you want as they're happy to teach you about their work. And be sure to go visit the lovely homes in the village and watch as they prepare for and entertain guests...
